Professional Experience:
I have been working as an English Language and Literature teacher in Form 4 and 5 classes of Leeds International School Panadura.
I was teaching English Language (Cambridge) in Ghiyasuddin international school in Maldives.
I was teaching English Language and Literature (Edexcel) in Sri Lankan School in Oman for 7 years.
I worked as a part-time IELTS Lecturer in Panara Educational Institute and Guwanya Institute.
I was teaching English Language and Literature (Edexcel) O/L and A/L classes at the American International school Dehiwala, Sri Lanka where I was the Head of the English Department.
I was teaching Business English for AAT and Chartered students at a Tertiary school, Minca Business School Nugegoda, Sri Lanka as a part time lecturer.
I was teaching Local A/L General English and O/L and A/L Literature at St Sebastian’s College Moratuwa, Sri Lanka for 12 years before I left for Europe in February 2006.
I was teaching English Language and Literature (Cambridge syllabus) at Lyceum International School Panadura, Sri Lanka.
I was also teaching English Language and Literature (Edexcel) at Leeds International school, Panadura, Sri Lanka.
Seminars and Workshops:
I have participated in all the seminars conducted in Dubai by Pearson under the theme “Teach the Pearson Edexcel International GCSE in English Language and Literature”
I have also participated in the Workshop organized by SLELTA (Sri Lanka English Teachers’ Association) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education at NIE and I was able to cover many themes as mentioned in the certificate.
I have also participated in many workshops conducted by the British Council Colombo, Sri Lanka.
I have also attended Workshops on Professional Development of English Language Teachers organized by the Cambridge University Press.
I have participated in all the English Language and Literature seminars conducted in Colombo, Sri Lanka by Edexcel and Cambridge University Press.
I have also participated in the seminar on teaching Advanced Level English Literature conducted by Sri Lanka Federation of University Women.
I have attended a three-day seminar on Edexcel English Specification A and B conducted by Pearson company.
