My background is primarily in the California worker’s compensation system, for over 20 years. My initial focus was working in medical billing and collection of services, including litigation and negotiations of medical liens. I owned and operated a billing service and have managed a muti-specialty medical billing and collections department, for 7 years. I moved onto working for a defense law firm in lien litigation and case management for expedient settlements, with practical experience outside and inside the courtroom. Legal billable hours quota was 200 hours per month. I am currently working as a worker’s compensation claims adjuster. I am bilingual and fluent in speaking, reading, and writing Spanish. My combined professional experience including worker’s compensation litigation also incorporates, team building, human resource functions, publishing jobs, conducting interviews, onboarding, training, periodic staff evaluation, exit interviews, credentialing, vendors, contracts, assisting in the opening of a second office, surgical scheduling for orthopedic surgeons & multiple outpatient procedures. Medical coding, billing, collections, appeals, bill review, with an emphasis on maximizing reimbursement and decreasing account average DSO from 180 days to an average 45 days out. I managed a staff of 8 billers and collectors, between two medical offices. I recently relocated to San Marcos, Texas from California, and I am looking to set roots in a company that appreciates a person like myself, who, likes to work in a diversified environment. I am really interested in continuing my career in management of a medical office, medical billing & collections department. I am also interested in human resources, operations & project management. I possess a fair amount of cross training in these areas, and I am very driven and always open to learning and taking on new challenges. I am not a paper pusher and prefer to be involved in every aspect of my work. I am used to wearing many hats and I can work independently or leading a team. Educational Background:
