RECENT VOLUNTEERING/EDUCATION
Glue Guy – El Paso, TX Annunciation House, April 2019-July 2019: A small group of us received 2 buses of migrants a day, every day. It was a privilege to give these many hundreds their proper Welcome to America. My duties morphed into “Glue Guy” – a role I love, filling whatever gaps arise. I became experienced at all the little jobs that are involved with taking care of 100+ new immigrants every day. The Sisters there gave me a great compliment as a result, “We miss you when you are gone -- you know how to do everything!” Being appreciated is my fuel. Mindfulness Training, University of Arizona, August - Sept 2019: I took a 6 week program to understand and improve mindfulness at my alma mater. I learned the research behind why and how practicing mindfulness is beneficial. I acquired several practical skills for being patient and identifying emotions so that I can react in a poised manner.
Volunteer – Remote Buckminster Fuller Institute, Summer 2018: I am oriented towards understanding innovative solutions which is why I sought out to help BFI. I provided help with IT projects for a summer, including helping transfer of data to a new Content Management System. In return I was able to learn more about Mr. Fuller and his impact in creating a brighter future for everyone. Business Skillset
