Yusuf is a community development champion in Kisumu County. She holds a Bachelors degree in Sociology from Maseno University and presently enrolled for a Master of Arts in Sociology at the same institution..

She has over three years programmatic experience in HIV-AIDS and STI prevention, care and treatment, household economic strengthening for widows, social protection for orphaned and vulnerable children (OVC) and victims of sexual and gender based violence (SGBV). Her key skills include community mobilization, data collection, monitoring and evaluation, training and facilitation, knowledge management, stakeholder management and office administration.

As a beneficiary of the Christian Relief Fund education sponsorship, Jen devotes her time to causes that emancipate the marginalized and disadvantaged persons impacted by poverty, ignorance, violence, conflict, discrimination and poor governance. Besides, emerging from a humble background, and as a former girl-child her interests are focused on advocacy and support for democracy and affirmative action with a bias toward women, youth and children and on matters sexual and reproductive health and rights.

Outside formal engagements, Jen serves as a Sunday School Teacher at a local church and is always looking to beef up her knowledge on social policy issues through research and meeting new people over coffee or drinks. She hopes to found and lead a civil rights organization in the near future and play an active role in shaping public policy.

She is fluent in English, Swahili and Luo languages and presently lives and works in Kisumu, Kenya.
