As Air operations Assistant /DFS planner my responsibilities : planning, maintaining and coordinating of daily flight schedule as per laid down procedures in safe, efficient and economical manner and support requirements of the mission with regards to air Operations.
Publish the flight schedule to relevant address, with all information relevant to the safe and efficient operation of the flight schedule is relayed in a timely manner to all relevant parties.
Inform flight following and Duty officers of all essential information related to the flight schedule.
Carryout flying briefing/ debriefing for all concerned (Site Managers) with current flight schedule.
Also update aircraft state and publish to all concerned, ensure that all schedules and schedule changes are posted in their appropriate physical locations and on the Airops/Movcon bulletin board on the lotus notes.
Maintain liaison with the entire Airops in all the sector of responsibility, and any other duties assigned by chief such as organize the daily statistical record of flying Hrs in accordance with policy on daily basis and ensure that the budgeted flying hrs assigned to each aircraft are not exceeded which is done by tracking the hrs of AC from each sectors and prepare the utilization report on daily, weekly, monthly, Assist in processing the special flight request on daily work.
Compiling the monthly DMS report by monitoring all the daily flying activities such as RF SFR Air patrol, Recce, Medivac/ Casevac and troop Rotations). Processing RBB quarterly and compiling Key Performance Indicator (KPI) monthly for Mission Support & attending meeting, forums related to air operations planning operational and policy matters as required.
Main achievement
Since i joined the mission 2007 with UNMIS, I have gained experience of the organization’s operational rules and regulations,SOP, I have increased my knowledge regarding the procedures for utilization of Air assets in UN peace keeping Mission.
