IMPROVEMENTS AND EFFICIENCIES

Trained and developed buying staff to upgrade professional performance and image, promoting account and business manager philosophy and improving response time to all areas of the organization.

Facilitated installation of a highly automated purchasing system (PCS),(AMAPS). Also familiar with ASI, AS400, MAPICS, SAP, and Microsoft AX, purchasing systems, as well as, PC based networking.

Successfully implemented a JIT system with major metal stampers, reducing inventory, increasing inventory turns, and allowing delivery of product direct to our work cells. Also started weekly/daily Can-Ban with suppliers.

Managed the transition from a centralized purchasing and inventory planning function to an independent business unit philosophy (P&L centers; SBU’s & downsizing)

Improved and implemented “Vendor Scheduling” via “Local Plant Release” systems, with reduced inspection, certified suppliers, and vendor performance systems. Results included: 50% reduction in lead time, inventory, overall cycle time, and total overall cost.
