Aggate Construction Group Inc. — Ramsey, MN CFO, 2005-2011

Aggate Construction Group, Inc was the brain child of myself and long time childhood friends. We began Aggate as a snow plowing company in 2005 along with a couple of small construction projects. The contract negotiations our first year with snow removal allowed us to launch into the property preservation field. We were able to get established early on before the market saw te huge turn in foreclosures nationally. Our growth exploded exponentially in 2008 where we went from a company of 10 to a company of 40+ in our 3 year of business. Sales grew from 500,000+ to over 2M. This was a direct result of the contracts I had negotiated and the clients I had brought on. It was also due to quick reactions having a feel for the pulse of the market. My business partner at the time was diagnosed with Krones and MS so spent many weeks at a time down at Rochester Mayo and then went thru a lengthy divorce. This kept him in touch but not active with the business for many years it was not until late in 2010 did he begin to take an active roll in day to day operations of the business. We had 3 divisions to our business SNOW that was seasonal and we doubled our staff and hired and managed subcontractors for multiple remote locations. CONSTRUCTION that were smaller remodel projects usually specialized in accessibility and a few commercial jobs, and PROPERTY PRESERVATION that provided the bulk of our work load over the years and contributed to our substantial growth. Due to irreconcilable differences, primarily the treatment of our employees I made the decision to leave. I left with a love and passion for the industry and for my employees. I began American REO Construction with all of my efforts the beginning of 2011. I left leaving Aggate Construction completely intact and have continued to try and work out a buy out of my portion of the company. Currently Aggate Construction has no contracts and no employees and I am uninformed of the current financial status as my former business partner refuses to communicate with me.

Highlights:

To avoid repetition all of the highlights previously mentioned with American REO Construction are valid with Aggate Construction. I held the builders license with Aggate that carried over to ARC, the clients I spoke with continued to work with me and as soon as a separation was made brought me on as a vendor, Day to day operations remained similar just on a smaller scale. There were a few notable mentions that I will detail below.

Implement a employee handbook and a drug and alcohol policy for employment

Hired a HR manager to help develop the previously mentioned items

Hired a full time accountant to help with managing budget, payables and receivables

Maintained a fleet of over 50 vehicles on and off road machinery

Developed relationships with the department of transportation and fleet regulatory agencies of the state to make sure we were compliant and went thru three full audits

Managed inventory and supplies on our 5000sf warehouse and 2000sf office

Negotiated contracts and were awarded with various county and city offices (Anoka County, Anoka Ramsey Community College, City of Ramsey, City of Brooklyn Park)

If it moved, cost the company money or made the company money the decisions lied with me

Mosaic Sales Solutions — Regional Manager, 2003-2005

Dallas, TX Telecommute virtual office

Regional Manager providing sales team support for AT&T wireless within the Best Buy big box retailer. At this position I managed over 150 employees at 70 Best Buy locations. I also worked on a secondary project hiring District Managers and support staff in multiple markets nationally. This project funded by the movie studio’s allowed us to staff merchandisers in the DVD department of Best Buy stores.

Highlights:

Managed, interviewed, hired and trained over 500 people in my career at Mosaic

In my region with the Wireless project maintained 150 employees at 70 locations

I provided up to date training and information on a weekly bases utilizing conference calls gathering information from the client AT&T and then distributing down line to all of my sales professional. Additional individual training was provided during the on boarding process as well as continued support if a sales representative was not performing.

Fired employees as needed that were not performing and was required to constantly interview new recruits to replace non performing sales associates.

Sales goals and projections to actual field data, data collection and analysis for the client AT&T as well as Best Buy. This data was also used to identify areas of need for additional sales training or support. I provided that additional support as an onsite training manager and assisted in sales.

Relationship building In everyone of the Best Buy stores there was a store manager and department manager that needed to trust that you had their best interest in mind.

Accountability to projections and sales goals were a priority and I exceeded those goals on all levels at times carrying the entire national project and my region would produce 75% of overall sales.

The contract for the wireless program expired and Best Buy and AT&T decided not to renew the program so I was transferred to the Best Buy DVD program. I was a floating Regional Manager I would set up interviews over the weekend on the phone fly out on Monday to a designated trouble spot interview hire and train over the week and the new hires would start on their own after I hired the District Manager and they would be in the stores that next weekend. I would fly home and then if needed fly back into the designated market the following Monday. I was kept on this project until this contract ended as well.
