EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
I am a qualified Occupational Therapist (OT) with more than 20 years’ experience in the occupation therapy environment. During this time, I have obtained extensive experience and exposure in the following areas:
Assessing children to identify learning and development needs;
Teaching children life skills, developmental and educational programs;
Treating children professionally and comply with ethical standards;
Establishing and maintaining a working relationship between patients / parents and myself;
Managing and exceeding patients expectations;
Conducting research and up skilling myself to stay in-line with the latest trends and practices;
Managing patient appointments and schedules;
Establishing and implementing all administrative processes required to manage and administer my practice successfully;
Mentoring and coaching students that want to become Occupational Therapists; and
Conducting and presenting various workshops to parents and teachers on a number of topics such as children development, stimulation ideas, learning disabilities etc. During 2018, I decided to expand my skills set and left the occupational therapy environment. I was appointed by an Electrophysiologist where I perform several administrative functions in the practice. Since I am passionate in teaching and mentoring children, I decided to enrol and complete the TEFL
(Teaching English to Foreign Learners) program during 2018. Currently I am an Occupational Therapist in a school environment. I am looking to secure a position (full – time) with an organisation / employer that will enable me to use my training, mentoring and coaching skills and experience. The following additional objectives are also important to me:
2
To be part of a training organisation / employer that values its employees and offers excellent employment prospects, in a fast-paced fulfilling work environment;
To be involved in a challenging working environment that utilises my competencies, capabilities, skills and experience optimally thereby ensuring my contribution to value creation;
A working environment that will constantly challenge me and provide me with the opportunity to operate against my own goals, objectives and timelines;
Obtain exposure to the work / educational ethics of different culture’s in the world. Although I am in an occupation where interpersonal relationships and empathy are key, I am also task / goal orientated, focused, thrive in stressful situations and can manage a few tasks at once. I have excellent skills in putting people at ease and caring for people as and when required. EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
