Organize management of the data entry into the official database of Department of Defense to maximize opportunities for subordinate units to mobilize and deploy to the war theater during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. 100% of mobilized units deployed because of improved status of SIDPERS-USAR where DoD analyzes data for unit readiness.

Trained 5 subordinates in the art of analyzing data input versus actual verified data to improve quality of data entry. Deployed with team to all 6 States to acquire data from personnel records of each assigned soldier while interviewing respective soldier to authenticate data for entry. 100% of mobilized units deployed because of improved status of SIDPERS-USAR where DoD analyzes data for unit readiness.

Senior Personnel Records Supervisor 08/1985-7/1988

244th Personnel Service Company, Fort Douglas, Salt Lake City, UT,

Analyzed operations of 3 teams: Records, Actions, and Management, to identify whether synergy existed. It did not. In fact, all 3 teams were working independent of each other and unit personnel suffered from lack of actions and management that effected their careers.

I took the 3 Team Leaders and taught them their responsibilities and the effect it had on the other teams if their actions or lack of actions didn’t occur.

The first task on my part was to educate the Records Team about proper records keeping that include internal documents and SIDPERS-USAR (automated records). Records it the base for all other functions of the Actions and Management Teams. Without proper records keeping, the other teams were dead in the water and unit members were missing out on additional schooling, promotions and unit assignments.

After the fact, a 6th U.S. Army Inspector General inspection team reviewed the status of personnel records and determined they were the best they had found.

I also improve the Retention Program by instituting Cross-Training to improve career advancement potential.
