Teaching Philosophy
I am seeking to secure a teaching position within a school district. I believe that my instructional abilities, combined with my strong interpersonal skills and work ethic would greatly benefit every educational program.
As a mathematics teacher, my objectives are:
1.To promote student’s interest in mathematics.
2.To help my students understand how mathematics has a significant role in life.
3.To nurture critical thinking in students.
4.To teach students that intelligence is a malleable quality that can be developed.
5.To invoke cooperative and collaborative learning.
Mathematics is not only memorizing formulas and manipulating with numbers -mathematics is everywhere around us. When I prove to my student that information, I teach to them will be useful for their lives and future professions and support this with proper examples, this will motivate them and stimulate their learning processes.
My main goal in my profession is to promote my student’s interest and desire to study. While as a teacher, I promote self-esteem in my students, with a variety of strategies and methods, my students make enormous contributions.
As a math teacher, the most important message that I hope to teach my students is that intelligence is not fixed. When they work hard and try to develop their mathematical abilities, they will have better achievement in the future.
Another objective is to invoke cooperative and collaborative learning among students. I want to use student’s ideas, natural curiosity and energy, to stimulate their active participation in class and group activities. Group discussions help students to collaborate with and learn from their peers.
I believe that skills such as critical thinking, interest in a particular field, developing intelligence and ability to work in teams, will give my students confidence, needed to excel.
