EMCS Technician
NBC Universal Studios Orlando Resort
October 2014 to August 2015
While Working at NBC Universal Orlando Resort I was responsible for all common area lighting that was not controlled by individual ride and show attractions. Via computer I turned on and off lighting according to the needs of the operation. I was also responsible for setting HVAC set points in all resort buildings according to operational need. This entailed setting temperatures and the run schedule to keep team members and guests comfortable while at the same time being mindful of energy conservation. I was also responsible for monitoring the Fire Control Systems across all three properties. I needed to monitor trouble codes, pre alarms and full alarm. This monitoring was done via computer supervision. When there was an issue at the location I would respond to that area and determine the risk to people and assets and then take appropriate actions. In most cases it was to determine what set off the building alarm and take actions to prevent it from occurring again in an ethical manner. In most cases it was park services pressure washing in the area and setting of the smoke detectors. In those cases I went to the fire panel and disabled temporarily the sensor sounding the alarm. In other cases I replaced faulty sensors. Finally I was responsible for reviewing Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures on all equipment across all three properties to verify the proper LOTO procedures. I also troubleshot and repaired various sensors and actuators on HVAC and lighting systems.
