To Whom It May Concern,
This letter summarizes my abilities as an Orthopaedic Physician Assistant. Enclosed is my resume highlighting my knowledge and expertise. In short, I have been a Physician Assistant for 23 years and NCCPA Certified since 2000. I am also a Fellowship Trained Orthopaedic Physician Assistant with 19 years’ experience in Orthopaedic Surgery. I have worked Primary Care, Family Medicine, Urgent Care and Orthopaedics.
Since retiring from the Air Force on June 1, 2013, I have been employed full time in private practice. I perform outpatient clinic and inpatient hospital duties which include dictating outpatient clinic visits, admission and preoperative history and physicals, writing orders and daily progress notes, preparing discharge summaries, and giving discharge instructions to patients. I round with the surgeon or do personal rounds and report the findings to the surgeon. My surgical first assistant duties include assisting in exposure, hemostasis, wound closure, ACL graft prepartation and other technical functions requested by the surgeon to carry out a safe operation with optimal results for the patient. I assist in both standard instrumentation as well as robotic-assisted total hip and total knee arthroplasty. I have experience that includes MAKO unicompartment, total knee, and total hip and the ROSA knee systems. I perform the following procedures without direct supervision: wound closure, wound management, wound debridement, incision and drainage of superficial soft tissue infections, K-wire removal, and hardware removal, excision of lesions; including skin, foreign body, superficial mass, cyst and nails. I also perform diagnostic interpretation of radiographs, MRI and CT Scans. Therapeutic procedures include digital blocks, local infiltrating anesthesia, joint and bursa aspirations, closed reduction of fractures and dislocations, injection of joints and bursa, tendons, trigger points and apply extremity braces, casts and splints as indicated.
Thank you in advance for your time. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. I am available upon request, and would be amicable to sitting down and discussing my surgical duties and experience in greater detail.
Sincerely,
Gary R. Sneller II, PA-C
