As a Skilled Laborer, my responsibilities included removal/replacement of Non-Skid solution to walkway(s) of Navy ships. I helped accomplish this goal by using various hand/power tools, high-powered machines that use high-pressured water, safety harnesses/equipment/measures, great communications skills, a little muscle, and the effort to see the finished product.
As an effort of my eagerness to learn more about my job, I was awarded a chance to maintain a permanent position and lead crew members on small objectives.

As a member of Richman Steels Pre-fabrication/Warehouse Department, I engaged in the preparation of steel material that needed to be Fabricated or shipped out/picked up by customers of our company. The preparation of steel material included: Measuring and cutting of stock or specifically ordered steel material to precise measurement and angle; Using high- powered Band Saw and Hydraulic Shears; Using precise measuring skills to achieve accurate cuts to material (1/8” tolerance +-). Other responsibilities as a member of Richman Steels Pre-fab/Warehouse Dept. included; Organization and rotation of stock material using Overhead Crane and Forklift; Assisting customers with work orders; Proper maintenance and Page 2
cleanliness of machines and work area; Safety and security of co-workers and building.
As a result of my superior work ethic and eagerness to learn more about the business, I have been awarded “Employee of the Month” on several occasions and received a substantial pay raise. I also obtained a Certified Forklift Operator certificate.

I obtained my G.E.D in February of 2006 from Warwick High School located in Newport News, Virginia; with superior scores in Language Arts and the ability to perform effectively in higher education as the top 20% of traditional high school graduates.
COMMUNICATION Standardizing: Conveyed information to all coworkers and followed up to ascertain that directions were being followed to ensure company uniformity.
Mentoring: Provided one-on-one coaching to new employees based on individual needs. Listened to their stories, determined aspirations and conveyed positive feedback to enrich productivity levels. LEADERSHIP Leadership, as I understand it, is a very implicit factor which should be reserved for the brain to understand rather than the sense to discover.
