Voting Unit Technician

I have a vast knowledge of the Sate & County Election Board policies and procedures. I use considerable knowledge of the maintenance, techniques, tools and equipment used in all phases of voting equipment programming. I use hand tools and my ability to detect defects in voting equipments and make appropriate repairs and adjustments as needed. I assist the Chief Judges with preparation of preparing the polls the night before the Election Day. On Election Day, I assist the Chief Judges with ensuring that the polling places are free of issues and moving along smoothly with the voting process and the polls are opened timely. Throughout the Election Day, I am responsible for traveling from precinct to precinct handling any problems/ repairs related to the voting units and provide technical assistance to Election Judges who operate the E-Polls machines eliminating any issues that will cause problems or delay of programming the voter’s access cards. I assist the Chief Judges with closing the polls and ensure that the voter’s data is transmitted to the Board of Election without problems. Occasionally, I have the responsible for transporting sensitive voting documents and equipments to the regional and assist at the Broad of Election after the polls close.
