Image Caption Generation of the MSCOCO Dataset(Team Leader)

• Implemented the project in pyspark and leveraged its distributed computing capabilities to handle the large-scale COCO dataset efficiently.Conducted exploratory data analysis (EDA) in python to understand the dataset’s categories and structure, developed an Xception-LSTM model using TensorFlow within the PySpark environment for image caption generation and evaluated the model’s performance using standard metrics like BLEU score, achieving a score of 0.35. Statistical Analysis on Chromosome 11 (Phenotype - Sickle Cell Anemia) (Team Leader)

• Conducted statistical analysis on chromosome 11 using VCFTools for the sickle cell anemia phenotype by merging the vcf file from 1000 genomes phase 3 release with a bed file containing genomic coordinates of sickle cell anemia. Estimated and compared the heterozygosity, allele frequency spectrum, nucleotide and genetic diversity between different populations and inferred that the mutation is most commonly found in populations of African descent. Human Activity Recognition (Team Leader)

• Implemented different ML classifiers and LSTM model that predicts the activity of a person (walking, sitting, lying, climbing, standing) to monitor patient’s recovery in hospitals. My tasks involved data preprocessing, performing exploratory data analysis using TSNE to visualize the clustering patterns of different activities, and developed ML classifiers and deep learning LSTM model achieving a 92% accuracy.
