Grew a virtual “Start-up” independent financial planning firm in the greater Boston marketplace. Grew the firm offering both business solutions to personal financial planning for high net- worth clients.

Our firm has a well established network of professionals including CPA’s, attorney’s, investment advisors and local banks that we offer our services through to their clients in a strategic alliance program.

Penn Mutual - Vice President of Distribution and Sales Development 2008 – 2010

Responsible for the growth and profitability of Penn Mutual’s Career Agency system. Responsible for the selection and development of 1st and 2nd line managers of the agency system and the development of the Regional Vice Presidents supporting distribution. Interacts regularly and seamlessly with Field Development, Marketing, Product Management, Business Processing, Field Financial Management and Compliance, coordinating the activities of all Support Center functional areas for optimal support to drive field results.

Successfully grew the sales of life products in both 2009 and 2010 by nearly 51% and 34%.

Foresters Financial Partners (National IMO) Founding Partner 2007 – 2008

Financial Services Industry was selected to join two other executives to form a partnership to develop a “start-up” distribution company focused on the creation of twelve regional brokerage managers across the United States. In our first two years we attracted more than 6,000 advisors to sell the life products of Foresters and other life products of a group of selected life manufacturers.

I was responsible for the attraction, development and supervision of the 21 agencies across the northeast region of the United States. I successfully eliminated the $6.5M in financial losses in the region, grew sales in each of the 4 years by more than 10% annually in each of my four years. I was responsible for the hiring of more than 1,000 producers, 25 sales managers and 6 general agents.

New England Financial - Vice President Recruiting and Field Development 2001 – 2002

Built and delivered a comprehensive field leadership development program that improved the organizational effectiveness of our field leaders through leadership development, performance management, succession planning, coaching, mentoring and other systems and strategic initiatives.

Implemented field leader coaching process with greater impact and reduced cost.

Orchestrated a distribution-wide mentorship program.

New England Financial/MetLife - Vice President – Independent Distribution 1998-2001

Built the internal operations and operating systems required to support a new division of New England Financial and Metlife “independent distribution” focused on marketing the life products of both carriers to the independent marketplace.

Developed a team of life specialists to market the life products to independent producers across the United States. We grew sales as a start-up in all four years and successfully merged our group into a larger brokerage operation with GenAmerica in their merger with Metlife.

Developed an innovative technology platform “Roundtable” to create a single advisor portal to view and administer all their life business with Metlife for all life products across all carriers acquired by Metlife. This resulted in a net savings of over $85M and the elimination of over 100 employees that were reduced as a result of the advancements in technology.

John Hancock – Associate General Agent 1995 - 1998

I joined the Andover general agency of John Hancock as the Associate General Agent to install the required systems for success in building a general agency. In my tenure as Associate General Agent I was responsible for the attraction of over 50 new advisors and growth in sales of 15% in my first year, 10% in my second year and 20% in my final year.

New England Financial – Regional Training Consultant 1988 – 1995

I was responsible for the education and training of producers across the career agency system. Developed and implemented a series of educational programs to provide advisors with the core knowledge and skills in planning, products and running a successful business.

Additionally, I was responsible for the training and development of the sales managers and general agents through on-site coaching and regional workshops to develop knowledge and skills in recruiting, training, coaching and general business skills.

Implemented a field coaching process that improved productivity by 5% and had a cost savings of $1.2M.

Orchestrated a regional mentorship program to develop junior advisors into senior advisors and new managers into veteran managers.
