Risk management
A risk assessment conduction plays a pivotal role in maintaining safety related
strategies. The following risk assessment should be conducted by the
professional health nurse every day. List not limited but include establishing the
following.
Is the patient resilient or conscientious?
Is the patient self-centered, dependent, low-tolerating or frustrated?
Does the patient know coping mechanisms?
Does the patient have any obsessions, distressing impulses, negative thoughts or compulsions?
Does the patient have delusions, perceptual disturbances or suicide thoughts?
Does the patent lack hygiene?
Is the patent speaking slowly and softly or rapidly and loudly?
What is the mood of the patient? Is the patient agitated or hostile?
Group Activities.
Another pivotal tool that aids in the holistic recovery of a mental health care user is group activities. The group activities have enormous role play and are vast important as they stimulate a well-regulated sense of participation, accountability and role play. They are a critical aspect of relapse prevention, coping skills, post discharge self-conduct, mass interaction and communication skills. In-service trainings and private course trainings. I have been exposed to multiple in-service trainings, induction programs and awareness activation programs. I have taken personal initiative to enroll and complete multiple courses so i can remain knowledgeable and competent in profession. Amongst those include BLS and CPR training information, other trainings like Crush syndrome patient emergency response regimens, DKA
protocols (Diabetic keto acidosis) emergency response protocols. The institution has long term breastfeeding awareness campaigns running, I
have actively participated on as we rotate placements to different wards; it was
a critical component to actively participate on in-service trainings. Education
