Responsibilities:

1.To ensure that highest possible hygiene and finish standard ofUniforms & linen is maintained at all times.

2. Inspect all the process in the Laundry on daily basis, to ensure optimum quality of work & also to ensure that all the work is according to the SOP’s instructed.

3. Coordinate with Executive Housekeeper and Director of Food & Beverage to ensure that there is an adequate supply of linen and uniforms available at all times, in particular on weekends/holiday.

4. Monitor wash formulas and use of washroom chemicals in order to maintain whiteness/brightness of linen and to ensure linen is returned to user departments free of stains and unpleasant odor.

5. Maintain records of wash rejects and in case of excessive reject rates improve wash formulas accordingly.

6. Ensure that type of laundry chemicals used is in line with environmental & recommendations.

7. Raising the FBM for chemicals, stores etc.

8. Review the laundry’s environmental performance and achievements twice a year.

9. On an annual basis, check with local environmental authorities for new code requirements.

10. Develop and implement standard operating procedures, as well as production and quality standards.

11. Check constantly all laundry and dry-cleaning equipment, to ensure that machines are kept clean, properly maintained and in efficient operating condition.

12. To prepare maintenance requisitions and maintain a follow-up file to ensure that equipment does not fall into disrepair.

13. Schedule working times in a way to optimize production, utilization of equipment as well as utilization of water and energy.

14. Propose/implement in coordination with the Chief Engineer, possible energy savings in the laundry and dry-cleaning department.

15. Assist Purchasing and Housekeeping department in analysis and selection of new linens and uniforms.

16. Control and analysis, on an ongoing basis, departmental labor and material costs, to ensure performance against budget.

17. Prepare the laundry and dry-cleaning department budget and goalprogrammed.

18. Prepare a monthly laundry and dry-cleaning production summary report.

19. Establish and update a 5 – year plan, including necessary replacements/additions of equipment.

20. Conduct such functions as interviewing, hiring, performance appraisal, counseling and dismissal if necessary, to ensure appropriate staffing and productivity. Consults with General Manager or delegate and Personnel Manager, as appropriate, in performing these duties.

21. Establish and maintains effective employee relations.

22. Identify training needs develops formal training plans and carries out regular training sessions.

23. On an annual basis, review prices for Guest Laundry/Dry Cleaning/Pressing to ensure they are competitive with those of key hotel competitors.

24. Being aware of trends, new methods, chemicals, textiles and equipment in the laundry and dry-cleaning industry, through trade magazines and by visiting other laundry and dry-cleaning plants.

25. Perform related duties and special projects as assigned.
