EXPERIENCE
SENIOR INTERIOR SYSTEMS ENGINEER
Canoo, Detroit, MI July-2020-Present
• Led static airbag testing to meet FMVSS requirements, implemented B side interior trim panel changes, and ensured manufacturability. Changes saved the company $12 per vehicle by eliminating the need for tethers to protect interior trim parts from becoming projectiles.
• Developed system boundary diagrams, DFMEA and DVP&R for upper trims. Item with higher RPN# (safety related concerns) on DFMEA were validated in advance to meet program timing.
• Led the A side changes on Camera housing cover with Studio and tooling team to avoid flash issues.
• Established A pillar trim build sequence by rearranging it with windshield. Changes, improved cycle time by 4 seconds.
• Included protective film on PUR wrapped parts, to resolve scuffing issue of parts with packaging racks. End of line quality check verified tapes were removed before vehicle leaves plant.
• Developed same sun visor attachment strategy on both driver and passenger side to reduce part number complexity and cost. DESIGN RELEASE ENGINEER-DOOR TRIM
Stellantis (FCA) Detroit, MI Mar 2019 – July-2020
• Responsible for MY2021 Dodge Challenger door trim mid cycle action which was taken to launch. Completion of CAD design and 2D drawings using GD&T techniques. UG NX software used.
• Used Kepner Tregoe Green belt tools to identify root cause for Door trim rattle issue found by customer. Weld strength decreased due to ejector ring presence which was the root cause. INTERIOR DESIGN VALIDATION/VERIFICATION ENGINEER
Ford Motor Company, Dearborn, MI Jul 2017 - Mar 2019
• Developed Design validation and Production validation plan for hard trim, door trims and headliners. Was able to reduce 3% of testing at DV by making sure surrogate materials were used.
• Established modified testing fixtures and bucks with fabrication team to reduce material cost for testing. The program saved approximately $10,000 by using modified fixtures.
• Managed testing cost by working with external vendors to meet program timing. Corelated physical and CAE test results of Cargo hook and grab handle testing which were made CAE only after correlation to reduce testing cost.
• Proposed change of design on B pillar upper to meet force vs deflection testing. Addition of ribs on certain areas on the B side of part, for customer satisfaction. (Team center and Vismockup) INTERIOR DESIGN ENGINEER
Tata Consultancy Services, Bangalore, India Feb 2013 - Jul 2016
