COMPETENCIES

Leadership and teamwork: I took a leadership position within a team setting while I was head of student’s welfare office and part of management team. I dealt efficiently with different people from different backgrounds, developing and implementing and communicating policies, regulations and procedures governing students.

Interpersonal skills: Liaising with different stakeholders both while was working at the Ministry of Gender and Youth, Sport and Recreation and at the Limkokwing University of Creative Technology – Lesotho, and going for both block and concurrent field work while I was a student enriched my interpersonal skills as I had to relate well with others, maintain confidentiality and provide timely and honest feedback amongst other skills.

Proficient communication skills: My work as a Student Services Executive sharpened my communications, reporting and presentation skills as I was working directly with students’ welfare issues ranging from their security in and outside campus, in class and liaising with different stakeholders, participating during new students’ orientation, and provide preliminary counselling.

Understand multigenerational workforce trends: I have in-depth understanding of multigenerational workforce trends which I obtained while working in the Ministry of Gender and Youth, Sport and Recreation where on daily bases I was working with both older and young people with different work styles and perceptions.

Initiative: I effectively managed to take the responsibility, identified what needed to be done and took action before and without being asked while I was one of the pioneers during the establishment of the Limkokwing University of Creative Technology – Lesotho.

Getting results and networking: I successfully worked towards achieving goals in all institutions I have worked at despite challenges I was faced with, getting the job done urgently and solving problems arose. I also managed collaborate across internal and external organizational boundaries to meet its objectives.

Innovation: I have great appreciation of new ideas and easily adapt to new situations, best practices and processes to the work unit. This obtained when I became one of the pioneers in Limkokwing University of Creative Technology – Lesotho.

I work as a Human Resource Officer. My duties include; Human Resource Information System (HRIS) Oracle, supervise and implement HR plans, policies and activities; ensure the availability of the right people with the right skills; ensure the availability and motivation of employees, maximize organizational competency and effectiveness, ensure good working relations and welfare of staff, ensure performance improvement.

APRIL 2021 – 21 AUGUST 2022 MINISTRY OF PUBLIC SERVICES – LESOTHO

I worked as a Human Resource Officer/Graduate Placement Officer and my duties include placing university graduates in suitable jobs in line with their qualifications, recruitment of new staff, supervise, implement HR plans, policies and activities, ensure the availability and motivation of employees, maximize organizational competency and effectiveness, ensure good working relations and welfare of staff, ensure performance improvement.

I was engaged as an Organisational Development Officer and my responsibilities amongst others include; restructuring and reorganizing of Government Ministries and Agencies, management and control of the civil service establishment, coordination of reforms, review systems and procedures and their implementation, and coordination of change management initiative.

2017 MARCH TO – 2021 FEBRUARY: MINISTRY OF SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT – LESOTHO

I worked as a Human Resource Officer in the Ministry of Social Development - Lesotho. 2016 (June) Private Agencies in Cooperation Together (PACT), Lesotho Planned Parenthood Association (LPPA) & Lesotho Inter – Religious Aids Consortium (LIRAC)

I worked as Research Interviewer and Botha – Bothe District Team Leader, where I participated in conducting a study on Health Service Mapping and Need Assessment for Men who have Sex with other Men (MSM) and Female Sex Workers in eight (8) districts in Lesotho.

2014 (November): Independent Electoral Commission (IEC)

I worked as a Mobile Registration Unit Operator (MRU). My duties amongst others included; registering eligible electors by assisting in filling of registration forms, verify data by ensuring that registration forms are equal to the number of people registered in the MRU, update electors’ register and perform any other duties assigned by the Director of Elections that are related to electoral activities.

2015 (February): Independent Electoral Commission (IEC)

I worked as Voting Station Manager and my duties amongst others included: Supervising all activities connected with the voting station on voting day and during counting, Overseeing the balloting and counting of votes (ensuring adherence to procedures laid down by the National Assembly Electoral Act and final accuracy and confidentiality of the count), Ensure that staff and voting station environment are managed effectively and efficiently.

2009-2010: Ministry of Gender & Youth, Sports & Recreation (MGYSR)

I was engaged as Private Secretary to the Honourable Minister of Gender & Youth, Sports & Recreation. My main duties amongst others included: participating in the development of policies and programs; coordinating implementation of approved policies and programs; providing guidance and advise on policy questions and administrative problems addressed to the Office of the Hon. Minister; acting as an information and Public Relations executive for the Office of the Hon. Minister; and managing the internal Administration of the Office of the Hon. Minister. In the same position, I also worked as a Project Manager for community based projects in the Likhoele constituency in Mafeteng District – Lesotho.

2008-2009: Limkokwing University of Creative Technology – Lesotho (LUCT) I was working as a Student Services Executive and I was also part of management team, developing and implementing policies and procedures governing students. I was working directly with students’ welfare issues ranging from their security, accommodation and transport, liaising with relevant stakeholders whenever necessary, participating during new students’ orientation, identify weak and slow learning students and recognize misbehaving students and provide preliminary counselling.

2007-2008: Ministry of Gender & Youth, Sports & Recreation (MGYSR)

I was working as a Senior Counsellor directly engaged with HIV/AIDS and TB infected and affected people. I provided HIV/AIDS counselling to both HIV/AIDs infected and affected people. I was strongly advocating for Voluntary Counselling and Testing (VCT) and adherence to TB and Anti-Retro Viral (ARVs) treatment.

2006-2007: Ministry of Justice - Probation Department

I worked as a Social Worker (volunteer) on pro bono basis. I was involved in all tasks assigned to me ranging from handling cases of gender based violence, children in conflict with the law, children at risk of offending, mediation and placement of clients given community service sentences and liaising with relevant stakeholders.

2005-2006: St. Joseph’s Hospital Roma- concurrent fieldwork placement

I was based in the Tuberculosis (TB) ward. Together with Hospital staff, I was providing counselling to all people and patients who came for Voluntary Counselling and Testing and I also provided HIV/AIDS counselling to both HIV/AIDs infected and affected people. I was strongly advocating for Voluntary Counselling and Testing (VCT) and adherence to TB and Anti-Retro Viral (ARVs) treatment.

2004-2005: The Roma Police Station – concurrent - fieldwork placement

I was working on cases of children and adults in conflict with the law, including those who were prone and vulnerable to break the law. Such cases of included, house breaking, theft, gender based violence and child abuse. My duties included, providing counseling, liaising with relevant institutions for assisting offenders and victims and also mobilizing their respective support structures and advocating and mediating for restorative justice.

2003-2004: The Lesotho National League of Visually Impaired Persons (LNLVIP) – Block field-work placement

I was based at the LNLVIP’s rehabilitation center at Ha – Tšosane Maseru where on daily bases I was directly working with the visually impaired persons, including children who are visually impaired and or have been affected. My duties included among others, providing psycho-social and moral support, counselling, and advocating for income generating activities, liaising with relevant stakeholders and mobilizing their respective support structures.
