• Pediatrics ward cover & on-call:
o Sharing Rota with 8 consultants to provide 24/7 ward cover and on-call consultancy o Morning ward rounds
o Reviewing patients in High Dependency Unit, Emergency department and Pediatric assessment units o Attending resuscitations for acutely unwell children & liaising with pediatric intensive care for further management o Spearheading multidisciplinary meetings for complex patients requiring multiple professional’s input
• Neonatal Intensive care:
o Sharing Rota with 6 consultants to provide onsite support o Providing immediate support & supervision for neonatal intensive care, managing premature babies (22+5 gestation onward) and all complex neonatal conditions including PPHN, MAS, HIE, diaphragmatic hernia, CHD, difficult airway, multiple congenital anomalies, metabolic conditions, palliation and so on
• Inpatient Cardiology service:
o Echocardiogram, ECG, Holter, cardio memo, exercise testing etc for patients with suspected heart conditions o Functional echocardiogram for sick/unstable patients in neonatal intensive care or pediatrics High Dependency Unit
• Outpatient/Clinic: Delivering 3 different clinics o General Paediatric clinic:
Managing patients from 0-18 years with medical conditions including problems with growth, development, behavior etc o Rapid Access Clinic (RAC):
Reviewing patients who are relatively stable and don’t need to attend emergency but require medical input within 24-48 hours o Cardiology clinic:
Managing patients with a range of cardiac symptoms and providing services including Echocardiogram, Holter/Cardio Memo & Exercise Testing
NON-CLINICAL/ MANAGEMENT ROLES:
• College Tutor: Appointed by Royal college of Pediatrics and Child Health UK and responsible for teaching & training for postgraduate trainees in the trust
• Clinical Audit Lead: Working with senior healthcare professionals and hospital management to develop, coordinate and lead management of change and initiated innovative projects to continuously improve clinical effectiveness and the quality of care
