Pitney Bowes Statement of US Employment Terms and Conditions
Please understand that employment at Pitney Bowes has the following terms and conditions.
1.Offer Contingencies:
Drug/Background Screens. Your employment is contingent upon your successful completion of a substance/drug test, and all background checks. A confirmed positive chemical substance test or an unfavorable result of the background investigation may result in the withdrawal of this employment offer.
I-9 Eligibility. The U.S. Government's Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 require verification of an individual's right to work in the United States. The last task in your onboarding portal will bring you to a website to initiate the I-9 process and lists which identified document(s) that establish identity and employment eligibility you will present within your first three days of employment. Please bring with you one document from List A, OR one document from List B AND one document from List C. Failure to complete the I9 process within the first three days of employment may result in your suspension from work.
Conflict of Interest and Confidentiality. Pitney Bowes does not wish to receive any documents or any confidential information concerning any business, technical or other matters that you gained knowledge of, as a result of your former employment. If at any time you are in doubt about whether or not to bring with you any information or disclose any such information, please do not disclose nor discuss that information with any one at Pitney Bowes. Violation of this important instruction will be grounds for immediate dismissal.
You agree that you are not under any former agreement, which prohibits you from being employed by Pitney Bowes. You understand that in the event such an agreement exists, Pitney Bowes has the right to end your employment or contest the agreement at its sole discretion.
Intellectual Property. Please review the attached Pitney Bowes Intellectual Property and Confidential Information Agreement or the Proprietary Interest Protection Agreement which you will need to sign and complete during your orientation.
2.Work Schedules. Although management makes every effort to accommodate individual preferences, the company may at times require overtime, shift work, change in work schedules other than Monday through Friday and facility transfers.
3.Direct Deposit. Direct deposit to employees' bank accounts is our standard payment method. Please bring on your first day of work either a voided blank check or a blank deposit slip from your bank account. These forms indicate your account and routing-transit banking numbers, necessary for setting up direct deposit. Human Resources can assist you in obtaining a bank account for direct deposit purposes if you should need assistance.
4.Introductory Period. The first 3 months of employment are considered an "Introductory Period" and completion does not guarantee continued employment nor a formal corrective action process.
5.Employment "At Will". Your employment with Pitney Bowes is considered "at will" meaning that you and/or Pitney Bowes may terminate your employment and compensation with or without cause, with or without notice, at any time, except as prohibited by law.
The terms of your employment do not and are not, a contract of employment with Pitney Bowes. Further, no manager or representative of Pitney Bowes has the authority to enter into any agreement of employment for any specified period of time and any promises to the contrary may be relied upon by you, only if they are in writing by the Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer or his/her designee.
6.Dispute Resolution Processes. You agree to comply with the Alternate Dispute Resolution process, known as PB Resolve, wherein, among other provisions, all covered disputes you may have with the Company and the Company may have with you, will be submitted to the Company's alternate dispute resolution process which includes full and final resolution of disputes through a four-step process, ending with binding arbitration. See the attached PB Resolve document description.
7.Falsification. Honesty and integrity are core values at Pitney Bowes. Should we determine at any time that you submitted falsified information, you will no longer be considered a candidate for employment with our company. If, after employing you at Pitney Bowes, we were to discover that you falsified information, you will be subject to disciplinary action that could lead to termination of your employment. Such courses of action are necessary to maintain the high levels of trust that people have in us.
