I have worked as a Registered Staff Nurse in Medicine ICU and Emergency Medicine at MOSCMCH Kolenchery. It was an 1100 bedded super specialty hospital with all major departments like General Medicine, General Surgery, Paediatrics and Neonatology, ENT, Orthopedics, Opthamology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Dermatology, Psychiatry, Dental etc. and super specialities like Neurology, Neuro Surgery, Uro Surgery, Nephrology and Toxiology, Cardiology and Cardiac – thoracie Surgery. Work description & Clinical Responsibilities

Holistic assessment, planning and implementation of care

Management and Administration of care includes administration of medication, intravenous therapy, fluid management, blood product transfusion.

Co-ordination with health personnel

Collection of specimen & Interpretation of Laboratory values.

Maintaining patient hygiene (oral care, bed bath)

Insertion of IV line, Catheterization & Care of Catheter

Assisting in Blood sugar level monitoring.

Ionotropic Therapy, Thrombolytic Therapy.

Nebulisation & Steam inhalation.

Positioning the patient, Back care, Bed sore care, Wound dressing etc.

Care of invasive lines including drains.

Tracheostomy care and Colostomy care.

CVP & IBP monitoring.

Collecting blood for ABG analysis & Laboratory Investigations.

Following standing orders in emergencies.

Performing defibrillation based on need assessment.

Performing Transcutaneous Pacing & Assisting in Intra venous Pacing.

Planning diet for the patient.

Insertion of Naso-gastric tube as well as administration of feeds.

Assisting in procedures like Central line insertion, Arterial line insertion, ICD, L.P, Pleural & Ascitic Tapping, Laparoscopy, Endoscopy, Bronchoscopy, Ophthalmoscopy, TEE, 2D Echo, Colour Doppler etc.
