Stellar Accomplishments Began in park maintenance and repairs. Promoted quickly to Maintenance manager to director, to Manager of Special Events/ lead carpenter.

Special Events Manager/Lead carpenter:

Read blueprints and executed project’s. Built habitats for animal extensions. Built furniture and cabinets for different scenes. Constructed small houses and buildings for themes at Zoo Tampa. Sometimes only having a 24 hour turnaround. Responsible for making sure all visuals stayed in pristine condition by repairing, painting, laminating and breaking down, or building new. Due to budget, myself and one or 2 team members being the only staff following blueprints or creating 80% of all work under carpentry and painting.

Structural design, planning and layout. Installation and repair. Understood and used all carpentry tools. Knowledge of trim carpentry, exterior carpentry and drywall. Furniture and cabinets. Worked with electrician when needed.

Putting in and changing locks when needed. Hiring and in charge of contractors. Ordering building supplies. Wood, paint, lacquer etc… Following up on contractors and supplies needed. Interviewing, hiring, training and employee reviews. Helped to keep costs down by making suggestions to Director in charge.

As Maintenance Manager:

Received all work orders for all 64 acres of the zoo. Completed them in a timely manner and followed up with staff and Zoo Director. Held safety meetings with employees. Schedules and payroll. Painting to refresh buildings. Ordered supplies and followed up as needed. Prepped for opening and closing of exhibits and expansions. Made sure working areas were clean. Repairs done in timely manner. Interviewed, hired, trained new hires.
