Significant Accomplishments
Elected as teacher of the year in 1996 and 1998.
Served as mentor for numerous novice teachers.
Trained in biotechnology techniques during the summer of 1998 at U of H-Downtown.
Participated in Project S.T.A.R. during the summer of 1999.
Planned and coordinated Summer School Programs at Scarborough High School that included a co-partnership with Teach for America during the summer of 2005.
Organized and implemented TAAS and TAKS tutorials, Saturday School Programs, Advanced Placement and Gifted and Talented training of teachers, PSAT and SAT online courses, the Texas Scholars Program and the Virtual Schools Program on the campus of Scarborough High School.
Coordinated administration of Released TAAS/TAKS tests, Snapshots, Benchmarks, Distant Learner exams, Advanced Placement exams, EOC exams, Curriculum-Based Assessments, and other pilot exams; prepared SACS, SIP, community involvement, school waiver reports, and other campus reports; prepared grants; performed and maintained the school’s ATM reporting system; served as HISD Benefits coordinator, collected and evaluated lesson plans; conducted teacher appraisals; gathered and analyzed school data; conferred with students and/or parents on problems of underachievement, social adjustment, attendance, discipline and other concerns; and many other school-related duties.
Established two different mentor programs geared toward our at-risk student population.
Participated in Houston A+ Challenge Leadership Academy (Class of 2004).
Participated in the Texas Earth and Space Science (TXESS) Revolution Professional Development Academies (2012-2014).
Conducted robotics and living systems tutorials for WALLIPP (2011). Scores improved from 38 to 72 on Science TAKS.

Conducted tutorials for Ryan Middle School (2012). Scores improved from 36 to 74 on Science TAKS.
Planned and coordinated KBR Science Teacher’s Award Program from 2009 to 2014.
Obtained monetary and in-kind donations for the Marcile Hollingsworth Science Center from 2009-2016.
Coordinated and chaperoned the ExxonMobil Career Challenge Program for 6th graders through the Museum of Natural Science (Fall 2015). This program impacted over 700 students.
Conducted a Horticulture Summer Program for middle and high school students at the Hollingsworth Science Center (Summer 2015).
Conducted “On the Farm STEM Experiences,” a pilot program for 3-6 year olds at the Hollingsworth Science Center (Spring 2016)
Provide instructional workshops (recently, Inquiry-Based Teaching and Learning) for adult learners through the Abundance Educational Consulting, LLC at the Harris County Department of Education in Houston, Texas (Fall 2014-2016).
Managed the Marcile Hollingsworth Science Center, including receiving, processing, caring for, and shipping live specimens according to requisitions from K-12 teachers. Coordinated and/or conducted elementary and secondary science workshops including Laboratory Safety Trainings. Conducted science workshops and/or camps for students of grades K-12. Collaborated with various state and local agencies to provide support for outdoor learning centers (2009 to present).
