I recently migrated to the United States from Guyana, South America with my two daughters, ages seventeen and thirteen respectively. I have worked in Guyana for the past twenty-five years in various financial and administrative capacities at government agencies, private sector companies and international projects. I possess very good interpersonal and communication skills and have the ability to adapt to different situations, think quickly, organize, plan and execute projects to meet deadlines. I am capable of handling a heavy and varied workload, working with minimum supervision, on my own or with a team. Professional Experience

Business Advisor, Small Business Bureau, Ministry of Trade, Industry and Commerce Small Business Bureau is semi-autonomous Government Agency that aids in the development of small businesses in Guyana, through financial assistance with access to loans or grants; training and other support services. My role as a Business Advisor entailed the processing of grant applications - ensuring all required documents were in order, preparation of business plans and cash flows, preparing files for review, preparation of documentation for disbursement of grants and monitoring and evaluation of clients after receiving grants. Additionally, assisted with record-keeping of all clients' files, documents and receipts. My position also entailed representing the organization at various events. My team which comprised of two other Business Advisors, were able to achieve and exceed our target of grants disbursed in 2021. This was the first time in the organization's history that this was done. We met and surpassed our target again in 2022.

Finance Assistant, Small Business Bureau, Ministry of Trade, Industry and Commerce I was the senior of the two Finance Assistants of the Finance Department, reporting to the Finance Officer. I was responsible for the general maintenance of the Finance Department, processing all of the organization's payments, preparing cheques accordingly and maintaining our filing system. Also was responsible for depositing all cash and cheques, managing our petty cash imprest; preparing all bank reconciliations; maintaining the asset register. Also assisted Finance Officer with audit reports and any other reports required. Represented the organization at various events countrywide. On many occasions I was tasked with carrying cash to make payments for several projects. In May 2021, I was selected by our then CEO, along with two other colleagues, to be a part of a special team put together to tackle our growing backlog of grant applications. GMPA received partial funding from the European Union and I assisted the Director of Special Projects with putting together financial and narrative reports and proposals for the EU.I resigned after the funding from the European Union ended and the Association did not have the resources to sustain my position any longer.
