Commercial Roofing Superintendent, King of Texas Roofing December 2014- 2016

-Monitor all on-going commercial building projects on a weekly basis to ascertain the readiness of the roof for installation, including photographic documentation. Attend all job meetings with owners, developers and other trades. Coordinate with the Project Manager for scheduling delivery of materials.

-Prior to installation, order all relevant equipment, such as sky track, blocking, stair tower, and portable bathroom facilities.

-Supervise the installation of thousands of squares of Firestone, Carlisle, and Sarnafil TPO roof systems from start to finish for both new construction and re-roofing projects ensuring plans and specifications are satisfied. Field Services Representative, GAF Materials Corp January 2011- 2014

-Conduct commercial and residential roof inspections covering the entirety of the roofing process from inception to final inspection. Inspections ensure each roof adheres to all GAF specifications before warranties are issued to the client. Inspection items include ensuring decking, ice and water shields, flashings covering all protrusions and where roofing materials meet the main structure of the building, primary roofing materials, eaves and gabbles, valley and ventilations are all suitable and installed properly.

-Compile and submit detailed reports of every inspection are submitted after the conclusion of each inspection including photographic documentation that all GAF specifications have been satisfied along with any pertinent notes, which are then submitted to corporate headquarters for processing.

-The only GAF representative covering a territory from MA to SC, taking special care to coordinate roof inspections with a variety of contract companies, as well as property owners, while ensuring inspections are done in a timely, efficient manner.

-Coordinate travel logistics while keeping in line with corporate guidelines, paying special attention to create detailed expense reports which are submitted on a weekly basis. It is also essential to ensure vehicle maintenance and constantly coordinate with the fleet management company.

-Being manufacturer certified ensures all installations met with manufacturer specifications ensuring warrantability by the manufacturer as well as an ongoing knowledge of the latest products. Providing quality products and exceptional service while remaining competitive was key.

-Managed all executive aspects of the business from advertising (radio, newspaper) and financial record keeping, to managing of all insurances (workers’ compensation, health insurance for all employees, liability, fleet insurance, etc.) and fleet management. Staying within budget while meeting the needs of customers, employees, suppliers, etc. was a delicate balance requiring quick decisions on a daily basis. Careful planning and analysis were pertinent to making these decisions, staying on budget, and planning for the future.

-Estimated the jobs paying attention to careful measurement of the roof, special job site conditions (access to roof, wires, barriers, etc.), steepness of roof and any other conditions that may affect installation of the roof was important to keep the job priced competitively and allow for proper scheduling of all aspects of the job from material placement on the job to any additional safety equipment that may have be needed.

-Time management was crucial. Careful attention to scheduling of estimates to meet customers’, builders’ and architects’ time requirements was important, as was ordering the proper materials in the proper amounts, and overseeing multiple crews working on several jobs at once. Implementation of hands-on training of all employees ensured the jobs were completed to specifications, eliminating the need for return trips to the job after completion, and speeding profitability.

-Our top priority was customer satisfaction, as it is in any small business. Ensuring customer satisfaction presupposes a variety of services including interacting with customers face to face, explaining all steps of the roofing process, and responding quickly to any questions or concerns the customer might come across. This was essential to building relationships and closing sales.
