LIFE LINE SCREENING, Austin, TX Dec. 2016 – Mar. 2017

Corporate Controller (Contracted Position - 90 days)

●Managed accounting department of 12 and oversaw financial close, budgeting, audit, and year-end close while permanent staff was out on maternity leave.

●Responsible for system migration from Great Plains to NetSuite as of January 1, 2017 including loading of all financial data for the prior five calendar years, implementation of all modules including: AP, inventory, AR, cash management, fixed assets, etc., established revised procedures in accordance with new system requirements, and trained staff in their assigned modules in NetSuite as an experienced administrative/super user in both legacy and new system

●Developed customized reports in NetSuite to mirror all historical financial statements and supporting reports for closing book presentation formats to remain consistent (approximately 40 variations of reports) and reconciled to ensure accuracy and complete validating migration was successful

●Point of contact for Ohio Department of Revenue sales and use tax audit for 2011 through 2013 calendar years, which was in final stages but a concern to CFO, as $300K liability due to insufficient support for exempt tax status in subset of invoice sampling (various attempts had been made from client and document retention center with no success) and would require 2014-2016 additional exposure to be quantified and resolved. I was able to close out the audit through extensive research and data gathering and providing supporting tax law for exemptions related to the type of print distribution manufactured as that was critical to interpretation to support regulation in various taxing jurisdictions where the print distribution was delivered/advertised as the indicator of exemption status and deemed acceptable support in absence of certificates. This reduced the amount to under $10K, which was settled and paid to the taxing authorities in my 90-day contracted term.

EVERI GAMES, INC., Austin, TX Jun. 2015 – Oct. 2016

Assistant Controller

●Managed accounts payable, inventory, general ledger, fixed assets, and cost accounting departments consisting of 10 direct reports, as well as 10 indirect reports in revenue, cash management, and tax
