• Incumbent function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.
• Ensure compliance with technical requirements of production and OSHA, fire and other safety regulations.
• Substantial knowledge of skilled trades and associated construction codes and regulations, ability to function regularly at an administrative level to include preparing budgets and cost estimates, maintain inventories, and assign, direct and review the work of subordinate staff.
• Incumbent supervisor both skilled and semi-skilled personnel performing work in a variety of disciplines.
• Prepare, issue, prioritize and track work orders related to the installation, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of facility equipment.
• Inspect work in progress and upon completion to ensure that work complies with applicable codes and repair projects.
• Ensure employees adhere to established work methods, techniques and schedules, and comply with applicable department policies, procedures, standards and specifications; reviews needs with appropriate management staff; allocates resources accordingly.
• Lead the overall safety programs to develop, follow, provide training, and ensure the complete and full implementation of all OSHA safety programs and procedures related to HVAC systems, utility systems, maintenance and associated electrical systems.
• Provide for the maintenance and servicing of hand and power tools related to the trade; keeps small inventory of frequently used supplies and parts.
• Act as first line supervisor for designated staff within a department, including interviewing and selecting of job applicants, training, overseeing work, and establishing and evaluating appropriate performance standards in accordance with department objectives. Recommends human resources actions such as hiring, discipline, termination and pay changes.
• Ensure that staff follows safety procedures and uses appropriate safety equipment. Prepare a variety of correspondence, procedures and periodic and special reports of work performed.
• Compile complete binders list for visits from Joint Commission, CYFD, State and Insurance Companies
• Maintain and directs the maintenance of accurate records and files.
• Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit's service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team.
