Research Associate

I worked at NYU Medical Center as a research associate under the supervision of Dr. Jean Luis. As part of the research training at the Department of Population Health, Center for Healthful behavior Change, I participated in weekly research seminars. These seminars included field experiences, lectures on biostatistics, epidemiology, sleep disorders, and Cardio metabolic disorders. During my training, I participated in two poster presentations for the Academy of Sleep Medicine. I have 12 publications as a first author available on pubmed.

Research Associate

I worked with Dr. McFarLane as a part of his clinical research team where I participated in the clinical trial entitled ORIGINALE (Outcome Reduction with Initial Glargine Intervention and Legacy Effects). I have been still working with Dr. Mcfarlane. I have been working with him on various publications.

Research Associate

I worked as a research associate at the Brooklyn Health Disparities at SUNY Downstate Medical Center under the supervision of Dr. Jean Luis. I participated at various NIH sponsored projects with a focus on obstructive sleep apnea and cardiovascular diseases. More specifically, I recruited and enrolled patients with metabolic syndrome from various participating clinics, for a project investigating the effect of sleep apnea treatment on components of the metabolic syndrome. I participated in the development of a poster looking at obstructive sleep apnea and stroke risk among Black patients with metabolic syndrome. The poster was presented at the Academy of Sleep Medicine Annual Meeting in Baltimore in June 2013. In addition to my participation at various NIH sponsored protocols, I also participated in weekly research seminars, which provide didactic lectures on research methodology, biostatistics, and basic SPSS application.

I have been working at Kings County Hospital Center as a clinical extern under the supervision of Dr. Abdul Mohit. I shadow Dr. Mohit on the floor. I am involved in interviewing patients during their admissions to the hospital. I do formulation for the new patients after their interview. I do patients follow up interviews and notes during their hospital stay. I also write discharge summaries when patients are getting discharged from the hospital. I attend daily morning reports, therapeutic community groups, treatment group meetings, clinical case conferences, and weekly grand rounds.

I also worked as a house officer under the supervision of Dr. Jamal Ara at Jinnah Post Medical Graduate Center in the department of Internal Medicine. Jinnah Post Medical Graduate Center is the biggest post graduate medical training center in the country. I attended grand rounds, daily morning rounds, presented different clinical cases and performed clinical procedures such as Lumber punctures and stomach wash.
