Under general supervision, school crossing guard is responsible for performing routine pedestrian safety work in the vicinity of a school. Guides school children at intersections before and after school. Work may be full or part time and may require working split shifts. Term of employment is during the fall and spring school year only. Essential Job Functions: Places school signs in street before school is open and after school hours, occasionally lifting and carrying equipment weighing 7 pounds. Guides school children across streets and assists disabled children and small children in crossing.
