Dear Hiring Manager,

I'm Karl Holm, and I'm an experienced educator with a diverse skill set, specializing in both the Humanities and Natural Sciences. With over two decades of teaching experience, I have instructed a wide range of students on different courses, including English language, literature, and communication skills, as well as general and specialized Biology courses. I have had the privilege of teaching as lecturer at well known universities globally and as tutor and instructor within the private education sector. In my most recent position as lecturer and tutor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) I developed and taught courses in English for non-native learners as a tool of communication. Thus, I was focusing on developing my students' practical writing skills in different situations and contexts, practical reading comprehension of real-life texts, listening skills, and finally pronunciation and accent reduction.

Alongside my teaching responsibilities, I have actively contributed to curriculum development, providing project leadership for content development, and overseeing teacher training and evaluation. Furthermore, I have published and presented research papers in the fields of Biology and Higher education in peer-reviewed journals and at reputable international conferences. I have a strong interest in interdisciplinary teaching and learning, continuously seeking opportunities together with my colleagues to integrate diverse disciplines and encourage critical thinking and self-directed learning. To ensure the highest standards of teaching, I am committed to ongoing professional development, consistently keeping up with current and innovative learning approaches and applications.

Thank you for your consideration and I'm looking forward to discussing with you in further detail what I may be able to contribute to your organization.

Sincerely,

Karl Holm
