Foreword

I hold a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (Power), MSc. in Industrial Engineering (System Analysis, Productivity and Management), with over 30 years of experience, building my career in energy sector through engineering of electrical systems in gas (gas wellheads, gas gathering, NGL), mines, metals and industrial plants (Aluminum Smelter, Steel, Copper, etc.) as well as power plants (Gas, Thermal, Combined Cycle, Hydro, Solar, Pump Storage, BESS, Wind, Coal & Co-Gen.), high voltage substations & equipment (AIS, GIS, PASS, Compact, Mobile, etc.), from site installation and commissioning to designing (conceptual and detail), repair and troubleshooting analysis, and technical consultation. I excelled myself to management levels, including project management, engineering management, business development, up to group or account management.

In the Engineering area, I am a Certified Professional Engineer (P-Eng.) of Ontario, Canada, conversant with various electrical standards: IEC, ANSI /IEEE, NEMA, NEC, CEC, etc., familiar with Power, Control & Automation, Protection, Instrumentation and concepts of electromechanical systems and basics of SVC, HVDC and FACTS in Steel Plants and HV transmission systems.

In the Management sector, I have extensive and thorough experience in project management in which I am fully familiar with contractual terms and conditions (FIDIC, ORGALIME, etc.) and international business legal issues, supported by my thorough implementation of PMBOK rules of PMI with very strong project interface oversight and leadership skills.

I have proficiency in ETAP & PV-Sys. and computer literacy working with Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, Power Point, MS Project, and Solid-Works. I have also been substantially engaged with ISO & QC/QA/TQM as well as Risk Management & HSE at initiating, reviewing and approval levels due to my Managerial and Supervisory levels.

Providing technical advice to developers, consultants, EPCs, OEMs, etc. on Power Electrical and Electromechanical Equipment and Systems of mines, metals and industrial plants (Aluminum Smelter, Steel, Copper, etc.), Power Plants (Thermal / Combined Cycle & Hydro, PV Solar) and HV substations.

Nov. 2021 – Jan. 2023; Norcan HydroTurbine Inc.:

Business Controller

Norcan HydroTurbine Inc. (NHT) is a leading Canadian Hydro Turbine manufacturer in Ontario, with 30 years of core activity in reverse engineering, design, manufacturing and refurbishment / upgrading of hydro turbines.

As the Business Director / Controller in NHT, my major role in a one-year mission is to support the Executive Advisor to sell the company through a Merger / Acquisition process:

Refine the process flows to all departments (Marketing / Sales, Engineering / R&D, PM, HSSE, GM, QC/QA Departments).

Support the Owners in analyzing the Company’s status quo situation and define, design and implement Business Plan, Change Management and Total Restructure / Reorganizational Change including new methods of Employee Engagements, BSC model, Performance Indicators (PIs, KPIs, KRIs) across the company at all personnel, departments and organization levels.

Helped redefine the ERP / BI systems at high level, management reporting tools & dashboards, new incentive programs, etc.

Dec.2020 – Dec.2021; Noorin Group:

VP – Head of Projects & Development

Noorin Group consist of several factories, main one named Abhar Wire & cable Co., the biggest and technically most advanced one for manufacturing of Low, Medium and High Voltage Cables up to 400 kV in Iran. There are two other major affiliated companies within the Group, with PVC and PE compounding and granule production facilities, plus one Data Centre for Cryptocurrency Mining of 4 MW size.

In this role, I was acting as Vice President to establish, set up and organize a Project Management Dept. for Execution of the several Projects already in the Group pipeline, and develop prospect project-based opportunities via R&D, which should also be organized, developed and enhanced within the PMO Unit per below:

Studied the status que of the complete electrical system (distribution system of the Complex, updated SLD drawings, executed power quality in 36 nodes and identified more than 9 points of drastic weakness or major improvements (power factors, voltage issues, unbalanced loads, harmonic issues, etc.)

Completely rehabilitated 64 years old D.G. Power Plant (6x1.5 MW in-house) including complete over haul of 5 Diesels, 20 KV MV SWGR, test of step-up transformers, service of diesel 2x 60,000 liter tanks and start up air compressors, relocation of the exhaust, etc.

Reviewed and modified 20 kV electrical system feeding the 4MW Crypto Currency Center

Feasibility studied and obtained approval of 40,000 / 120,000 Tone new PVC and compounding plant, as well as a new plant for 4000 / 8000 tone production lines of HC / LC galvanizing wire plant.

Jan. 2019- Dec.2020; Faraniroo Eng. Group:

Senior Consultant

Supervised and mentored PM & Control Department in complex and large projects (1X230 + 1X400 kV GIS, as well as one 400kV / 36 kV complex AIS/ GIS Project for steel manufacturing companies)

Guided the manufacturing facility of Faraniroo Eng. Group to add a new line of product (withdrawable LV switchboard / MCC) and update, deploy & implement proper work process flow of the existing production line (manufacturing of DCS, Automation, Control, Protection, and electrical panels), implementing TQM / QC/ HSE, as well as possible Transfer of Technology and localization of competitive products to increase product portfolio.

Supported the sales & tender departments (technical, legal and contractual issues) on many proposals in HV conventional / mobile / GIS substations.

In the business growth especially the international markets, I lead the team of 10 highly expert engineers, visited a 6x 115 MW Steam Powerplant and its 15 / 230 kV substation in a country in Middle East totally damaged during the war and provided comprehensive proposal for complete rehabilitation including the 20 MW start up gas turbine. Our proposal was both technically and financially the best, but the ministry could not provide the proper finance budget due to war economical shortfalls.

Visited and studied the status que of the main 20 kV electrical system to tie in a new back-up power gen (3x2 MW Gas Engine CHP plant) and provided technical recommendations for one of the largest Pulp & Paper plants in south of Iran.

Supported the Managing Director in every aspect, with the main focus on establishing Code of Ethics, HSSE, Corporate Governance systems.

Jun. 2018 – Jan. 2019; ABB Italy:

Business Dev. Manager, Power Gen. & Water-South America

As Business Development Manager, reporting directly to the ITABB BU Manager, I had the responsibility for market growth, promoting state of the art ABB technologies and products (S+ Control System), forecasting & achieving new sales targets and profitability, improving customer relationship and satisfaction in Power Generation and Water sectors in South America, with main focus on Power & Automation systems.

In addition to above role, I was the Capture Team Lead of ITAIPU Binacional Rehabilitation Project.

A)Account Manager

As a Strategic Account Manager, reporting directly to the Country Manager, I had the overall responsibility for several key accounts for growth improvement, profitability and customer satisfaction.

Typical duties included, but not limited to the following:

To develop, represent and grow ABB’s relationship with Strategic Customers and leverage ABB’s rich technologies and products, apply a high-level business acumen, including an understanding of the customer’s business drivers, industry, economic trends, issues and competition

Plan, facilitate and conduct complex negotiations and be the window into ABB for the customer and mobilize ABB globally through access to local sales teams, senior ABB management and orchestrate worldwide resources as an integrated team spanning all of ABB’s businesses.

B)Power Grid Division Acting Manager and Power Generation & Water BU Manager (Sales & Marketing)

In addition to Account Management Role, I also held the position of Power Grid Division Acting Manager (High Voltage GIS/ AIS/ PASS Systems and Equipment) and Power Generation & Water BU Manager, reporting directly to the Country Manager, accountable for:

Defining and implementing sales and marketing strategies and targets for the assigned areas;

Proactively leading, developing and coaching the aforementioned Marketing & Sales departments;

Managing the marketing and sales action plans to both achieve the key qualitative and quantitative targets in a profitable way, to ensure high levels of customer relation and satisfaction, and

Identified and managed potential risks relating to contract agreements across customers/channels

Lead ABB “Small Hydro Task Force” to tackle this sector different than Large Hydro projects and “Solar Task Force” teams technically to initiate this new sector in North America region, trained the engineers to design and execute PV Solar (including BESS) Projects and provided technical advices to ABB Acquisition Department.
