I am applying for a career opportunity for outpatient therapy, I am currently in a graduate program to obtain my master’s degree in counseling and human development. My college education has exceptionally prepared me for a smooth transition from school to work by providing me with the skills necessary to succeed. One of the skills that I am very proud of is knowing how to be a part of a team. I feel that by developing useful strategies with a team can help each person grow and see things differently. This experience has also helped to develop my communication skills, as I was required to work with others to create solutions. I feel that the experience I gained was truly valuable as it has prepared me for my successful counseling career thus far. In college I feel that I was well prepared for real-life situations and jobs. Difficult courses have taught me exceptional critical-thinking skills and that the answers will not always be in front of my face. Through my courses I have learned how to solve complex problems and that high-quality results take hard work. It also has given me the opportunity to experience situations firsthand and taught me how to produce the best solutions. My time working at Big Lots and the Whitfield library has prepared me in customer service, but it has also showed me how to establish the professional skills I need for other positions as well. I can do the following with advanced administrative and multitasking abilities to handle clerical needs with expert attention to detail and independent judgement. I can keep senior managers and staff free of basic issues by skillfully handling business corresponding and inquires. I am skilled at completing daily assignments and contributing to team success.
