SUPPORT SERVICES SUPERVISOR, HEALTH PEI

Manage the daily operations of Nutrition and Environmental Services Departments at a Long- Term Care Facility. This position allows me to work closely with Directors, Managers and the Administrator frequently. Prepare staffing documents for hiring, leaves of many sorts, interviewing, job posting forms etc. I have developed communication skills to communicate effectively orally and in writing. I attend Department Managers meetings, present information for my departments as well as develop interpersonal relationships with the team. I communicate with my staff of 40 plus daily and chair team meetings, record minutes, agendas etc. Develop and implement safe work procedures, policies and procedures, new job analysis and routines, schedules etc. Work with Peoplesoft program for payroll purposes and to print TRC reports, balance sheets etc. Also, work with online service requester for maintenance services when needed. Online incident reporting and follow ups with staff are ongoing. Conduct performance assessments and performance improvement plans with Human Resources involvement. Daily checks with staff to ensure project management, time management, and attendance management are monitored. This position also entails Audits for both departments Daily, Weekly and Monthly following the infection control guidelines. I am also in charge of the inventory and ordering for both departments. Orders are requisitioned and input into the online Oracle (HFS) system Weekly, bi-Weekly and Monthly. I Attend provincial contract meetings and communicate with vendors and contract administrators on a regular basis. MAY 2000–OCTOBER 2009

REGIONAL FOOD SERVICES SUPERVISOR, HEALTH PEI

Managed daily operations of Nutrition Services Department at 3 Long-Term Care Facilities as well as Prince County Hospital. This role was very hands on Supervision, supervised staff daily in their work routines. Worked with Therapeutic diets to ensure clients received proper meals. In charge of internal requisitioning for department, work orders, daily schedules and staffing. Help to implement the SMART Training Program to the department and eventually became a facilitator. Updated staff on new WHMIS information and provided MSDS sheets when necessary. Updated policy and procedure binders, fire manuals etc. Attended OH&S meetings, fire safety meetings and chaired team meetings for all 4 sites. Conducted product evaluations on new and existing products. Conducted audits following Sanitation guidelines, ie temperatures of food, fridges, hand washing, personal hygiene etc. Provided orientation for new staff within the department and scheduled training.
