Experience

July 2022-December 2022

Behavioral Health Specialist, Alternative Homes for Youth

·Assisting the youth with their basic needs, working in High acuity units, working closely with other BHS, Therapists, and my supervisor on shift, assist staff in assuring youth comply with rules and guidelines while they participate in daily living and treatment in the facility. Also observing youth behavior to identify any behavior changes, indicators or additional needs of the youth and report these to administration/therapists. These boys were wonderful to work with. They all loved me back as well. I got to know them each as individuals and did not focus on the crime they committed to get in there, but what they are accomplishing while they are there. They liked me from day one and I was even given a nickname by them I was “so cool” from the first day my name was “Mama G”. It made me feel special and I made them each feel special in their own way. They would ask to take walks to talk out their problems with me and would play games together or puzzles while we talked things over.

January 2022-July 2022

Mental Health Technician, Johnstown Heights Behavioral Health

·Working closely with nurses on staff, assist staff in assuring patients comply with rules and guidelines while they participate in daily living and treatment in the facility, observe client behavior to identify behavior changes, indicators or additional needs of the patient to administration/therapists. Inventory on incoming patients, one on one counseling sessions with patients in the middle of the night if needed, helping detox patients in the middle of the night and checking vitals every 15 minutes. Saved one person's life in detox. My time in The Psychiatric ward was rewarding and I was very good at learning the triggers of each patient and how to ease their anger or frustration. I was able to come up with ideas for each one of them that were willing to take ideas from me on how to calm down and what tools I gave them would work best. I was able to calm them down before the team had to call for a takedown of that patient. Best thing for everyone.

August 2020-October 2021

Behavioral Health Worker, North Range Behavioral Health

·Dispensing medications, drug testing patients, administering random BA’s, Swabs, and UA’s, inputting notes on evening and morning activity into the computer system, assisting clients with their needs, locking doors at night and unlocking doors (inner and outer doors) in the morning, also security overnight, reporting missed medication, and refusal of drug test to administration and therapist. Assisting supervisory staff in assuring clients comply with rules and guidelines while they participate in daily living and treatment in the facility, observe client behavior to identify behavior changes, indicators or additional needs of the patient to administration/therapists, and helping/talking with clients detoxing overnight when emotions are heightened. It is very difficult to have clients in a detox/dual diagnosis treatment center trust, and especially like Behavioral Health Worker. My personal touch to everyone made a difference and not everyone liked me of course, but most of the clients did. There are always going to be those you just can't get through to.

·

January 2020-

March 2020

Server, UNC Diner

·Served students at different food stations, Dish washer when needed, cleaned up serving station and put away food Chef said we are going to keep and threw away food Chef said we are not keeping. My favorite part about this job was meeting different students, making new friends, and I was told by many students I was the happiest and most friendly server there. That they always liked coming to the station that I am working at. I find that “Service with a smile” is not just a silly slogan. It does make a difference.

August 2018-December 2019

Deli Clerk, King Soopers

· Sliced meat and cheese to the customer's request, served customers from the cold and hot bar, fry cook, made deli sandwiches, deli-closing responsibilities cleaning the dishes and the deli including the floors. Every day make sure each customer leaves happy. I loved this job and my son worked in the deli along with me. The only reason that I left was because I had an injury to my wrist (not work related) and was unable to use the slicer) unfortunately the King Soopers I was working for did not have any other positions available for me to fill so they had to let me go. I loved all my co-workers in the deli and I am still friends with all of them. It made me sad that I had to leave because we had fun working together and got work done at the same time.

Education

August 2015-December 2020

Bachelors in Psychology, Greeley, CO, University of Northern Colorado

Communication

While I was working in the Call Center Industry, I moved up quickly from an agent on the phone to a Quality Assurance Agent. I was the favorite QA Agent because I not only went over what the agent needed to work on improving, I also gave them examples on how, where to find the correct information in the computer for future reference, and roll played with them so they had a good feeling of how it should go. I also ended the coaching with the things they did wonderfully on the call. I wanted them to leave the coaching with a good feeling. The agents said I was the only QA Tech that took the extra time to help as much as I did. They always left my desk with a smile and with more education as they had before.

I am also known to calm people down during arguments, I separate them, talk to each of them one at a time, and then bring them back together if they are willing to discuss the issue and then we can get back to work peacefully. Having coworkers angry with each other can then disrupt the entire group and it becomes a hostile environment. We all want to communicate and get along so work is enjoyable if not fun.
