• The purpose of the visit was to look at the contractors on FLUORS bid list to verify their specifications, for building of the housing verses U.S. Specifications. In addition, over the Quality Assurance look at fabrication of these Contractors Facilities and return to Greenville, SC., in December to review the bids verses my visit to all these contractors and awards the contracts to five of the contractors.

Third party material testing: TARMAC ALAWI, L.L.C., Muscat Oman, reviewed and accepted their QA/QC plan, scheduled all testing of concrete, asphalt, sub base and base coarse PER: ASTM & B/S.

• Tested activities, sieve analysis of aggregates, slump testing of concrete, air-entrainment, compressive strength of concrete cylinders and beams.

• Asphalt: daily extraction method, for bitumen content, voids in mix, specific gravity and sieve analysis of aggregates after extraction and field

(CBR) testing.

Performance of detailed inspections, monitoring and/or surveillances of TSKJ contractor suppliers and subcontractor activities;

QA/QC oversight responsibility for the contractors, subcontractors, inspection and test agencies and suppliers;

Participate with the project “team” comprised of the owner, contractor, subcontractors and the construction manager personnel to identify any potential for nonconformance’s and effect resolution prior to the realization of a nonconforming condition; and Participate in and/or chair weekly and monthly owner and contractor progress, schedule and quality meetings.

Transfer of technology to Nigerian personnel by a combination of formal training sessions, field practical performance, comprehensive written evaluations and application monitoring. System completion “walk down” including the development of the systems and facilities punch list, input and maintenance of the punch list, coordination of punch list resolution with the owner, contractors and TSKJ personnel including the final inspection, test and acceptance of items, components and systems.
