Taught the use of technology in the curriculum and classrooms to teachers of three area schools. Worked with high school and two elementary schools to ensure that teachers and students were using technology to support classroom instruction. Mimios, Prometheans, Smart Boards, document cameras and software programs were used and taught on a regular basis. Primary responsibility was professional development for teachers and staff. Attended professional development workshops frequently. Received MIMIO masters certification in spring 2010. Familiar with Virtual Classroom foreign language programs offered to high school students in Onslow County. Resigned to relocate out of state with my husband.

Queens Creek Elementary School (Onslow County Schools), Swansboro, N.C. Media Specialist for school with 620 students. State of the art technology center with 36 computers, Smart Boards, laptops, LCD projectors and a book collection of 23,000. Managed morning news show, taught library skills, research and technology, wrote grants for various projects, media/news liaison, created school web site and edited weekly, collaborated with teachers for curriculum instruction, and taught daily. Wrote, and was awarded, the Reading is Fundamental grant and continued to be awarded annually. Member of the Strategic Planning Committee, Media Technology Advisory Committee, and was chosen as one of four pilot programs in Onslow County for the school’s first ever recycling program, and served as the Recycling Club sponsor.
