2020-2022- SCHOOL COUNSELOR (During Covid)

I was not going to move schools during Covid. It was a decision I made over the summer just before the fall of 2020. I served NW ISD for two years. Both years were very difficult due to Covid related issues. I fulfilled all of my responsibilities and received top scores on my evaluations. I did more CPS cases in those two years than in all of my combined counseling years. The district was phenomenal and I worked with an incredible staff!

BLANCHE DODD INTERMEDIATE- KRUM, TX

2015-2020- SCHOOL COUNSELOR/ ADMINISTRATOR INTERN (4th & 5th grade-Intermediate) My role in Krum ISD was multifaceted. I served as the campus testing coordinator, 504 coordinator, RTI coordinator, and in addition to other administrator roles & responsibilities. I delivered a Guidance SEL Program that included character lessons to students every six weeks. One of the main jobs I held was monitoring individual student growth and development and assisting teachers in providing state approved accommodations and/or classroom support. I also work with parents of students in crisis or other areas of concern. I was also in charge of discipline related issues when the principal was off-campus which as a counselor, put me in a dual-role situation. My experience at Krum ISD brought me a great deal of knowledge for the administrator’s role. MONACO ELEMENTARY- AUBREY, TX

2014-2015- SCHOOL COUNSELOR (Pre K - 5 TH GRADE -Elementary Counselor) Served in two roles - school counselor and assistant principal. My duties included making the master schedule, building class rosters, writing 504’s and holding meetings, office referrals, Student Support Team member (RTI), and I was the campus coordinator for all STAAR testing. I also did monthly guidance lessons that followed a specific character trait and each teacher selected a Student of the Month that best modeled that character trait. I posted grade level pictures in the hallway each month after student names were read on the announcements. Guidance lessons were one of my favorite things to do and I was able to do them with 24+ classes 7 out of the 9 months during the school year. I also managed and supported the WatchDog program for dads, Red Ribbon Week, College Week, Fire Safety Week, Monaco Club Day, Denton 911 Summer Safety Program, STAAR Parent’s Night, Veterans Day Ceremony for the community, Love Pacs (food backpack program), and “Bullying” education by bringing in Dennis Lee.

Wrote a counselor's newsletter that went home to parents four times during the year and met with many parents, grandparent, students, teachers and CPS case workers to help our students succeed. I worked collaboratively with our campus principal, district diagnostician, student support coordinator, and others to implement or carry out plans for further individual student achievement.
