Step & Repeat LA, Director of Installations

01/2015 - 06/2016

Owner, President, & CEO

Codi Rose Collins

818-***-****

Shadow Hills, CA

Step and Repeat LA is the leading red carpet company in the Los Angeles area. Dedicated to creating the highest quality backdrops and media walls for VIP events. They do all their printing and fabrication in-house based in the Los Angeles area. No printing job is too big for S&R LA, as they have one of the largest printers in the world. I started out at Step & Repeat LA simply as a fabricator. In a very short time, management saw my potential and work ethic. Within a month or two of working here, I became the Director of ALL installations as well as the property & warehouse manager. My duties included, but were not limited to, managing ALL of the shipments coming in and out of the company. Being in charge of ALL off site installations. This means I prepared the install, packaged all materials needed for the job, as well as oversaw the installation of the job. During my time here at Step & Repeat LA, I completely reorganized almost all of the procedures that were in place. Created procedures where there simply weren’t any. I also completely reorganized the warehouse, storage facility, and workshops. WORK

EXPERIENCE (C):

Collins Visual Media, Fabricator / Director of Installations 01/2015 - 06/2016

George Collins, Owner

818-***-****

While they specialize in signage projects for the film industry, they also work with many project coordinators, event planners, corporations, business owners, ad agencies and the average Joe looking to expand their advertisements, displays, & marketing, thru some of the products we offer, which include but not limited to: Props, Hero Props, Large format printing, fabric printing, CNC, hand paintings, designs/logos, vehicle graphics, professional basketball court cover ups, storefront signage, media walls, installations, wall graphics, packaging, stickers, & decals. They offer LARGE-format printing with no size limitation. They operate on film industry deadlines, so we operate fast with a can-do attitude.

Step & Repeat LA & Collins Visual Media are brother-sister organizations. Owned and operated by a family. I left both organizations on good terms. My entire family lives in IL, including my daughter and it was simply too hard being this far from home. I did have my daughter during the summers and for extended periods, but it simply was not enough.

WORK EXPERIENCE (D):

The Firkin, Server/Bartender/Shift Manager

01/2011 - 01/2015

Travis Kick, GM

847-***-****

I started out at Firkin as a server. During my time working here, management saw my work ethic and potential. I began receiving the optimal shifts and noticed I became the opener & closer for the majority of my shifts. This would provide me with the opportunity to make more money by working more hours. By opening the restaurant, you are preparing for the entire shift ahead of you. An improperly prepared restaurant can cause many issues throughout the day and simply make the work day harder on everyone. The same can be said for closing a restaurant. While simply cleaning up from the day, you also begin to prepare for the following shift. Within a few months, I was trained to be a bartender, which comes with much more responsibility. Generally speaking, only hard working servers are trained and moved into the bartending position. Due to transactions being made throughout the day in this position, I was given special access to the computer system, generally only given to managers. This system is used at work to order drinks, food, print and run credit cards. With my access, I was now able to provide discounts, remove items from customer bills, and things of that nature. I left Firkin on great terms. I moved to LA to give Hollywood a shot!

WORK EXPERIENCE (E):

Kona Grill

Server /Bartender

01/2008 - 01/2011

Lincolnshire, IL - Location Permanently closed.

Corporate Phone Number: 646-***-****

Once again, I started out at Kona Grill as a server. After a short period of time, I was moved from the dining room, into the cocktail lounge and bar area. This area of the restaurant is much busier than the dining room. Working this section of the restaurant, you have more tables in your section and it is a much faster pace working environment. You need to know how to use time management and deal with a large amount of multitasking. After management saw how well I could be of service to the restaurant and my guests, they quickly began to train me to work as a bartender. I was now a server, cocktail server and bartender. I left Kona Grill to pursue a new employment opportunity at Firkin and left on good terms.

WORK EXPERIENCE (F)

JR Plumbing, Labor

2003-2006

A good friend of mine worked for JR Plumbing and was a certified plumber. Besides working for JR, Mark, my boss, had a lot of “word of mouth” clients. During my time working with Mark, we would take on jobs from as simple as replacing a toilet, to jobs as big as providing ALL plumbing needs to a new home. We often completed unfinished basements, adding bathrooms, bars, heated flooring and more.

While working with Mark, at first I was simply his Laborer, but as time went on, he saw my ability to learn quickly on the job and to complete more complicated tasks. At first I simply broke and removed concrete where desired. As well as poured new concrete in needed areas. After no time at all, I began to install piping. Both PVC & copper tubing. I learned to weld copper, glue PVC, cut copper tubing and PVC for installation.
