Program & Operations Manager – Juvenile Programs, (10/19-Present) City of Richmond Department of Justice Services

Responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of the Juvenile Programs Division to include Family Ties, Outreach Detention/Community Monitoring (With or without a monitoring device), Behavioral Health Docket, Community Service, Peer Justice Diversion, and Evening Reporting Center. Works closely with local court services unit personnel, judges, commonwealth's attorney, public/defense counsel, detention administration, social services, school representatives, and other stakeholders involved in the wellbeing of youth; ensuring appropriate supervision and follow-up on program compliance; independently with general supervision from the Deputy Director of Justice Services.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Developing and implementing daily operational policy and procedure to ensure effective delivery of services.

Developing and managing program goals, performance targets, and budgets.

Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual program progress and financial reports.

Conducting research and data analysis as needed for program planning and outcome performances.

Problem solving formally and informally with other agency personnel of all levels to ensure effective and efficient systems are in place.

Serving as liaison to the Richmond Detention Center, Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice and local courts.

Representing the Department at Stakeholder meetings.

Monitoring the implementation of evidence based practices in a criminal justice setting.

Providing direct supervision over unit supervisors.

Completing staff performance evaluations.

Coordinating staff training and professional development.

Drafting biannual Virginia Juvenile Community Crime Control Plan.

Human Services Coordinator, (06/14-10/19) City of Richmond, Va. Department of Justice Services

Responsible for Overseeing and coordinates the Outreach Detention Program, which monitors clients pre-dispositionally placed on home confinement by the court. Selects, trains assigns, supervises, and evaluates Outreach Counselors. Oversees and coordinates the Community Monitoring Program, a less restrictive program that monitors clients referred thru Probation post-dispositionally as a graduated sanction. Selects, trains assigns, supervises, and evaluates Community Monitoring Specialists. Oversees and coordinates the Law Related Education Program, an evidence based program designed to educate first time and low level juvenile offenders to the local, state, and federal laws that apply to juveniles. Supervises attendance officers and support staff at the Attendance Services Center. Responsible for the day to day operations of the Attendance Service Center under the supervision of the Program Manager. Works within a general outline of work to be performed, and develops work methods and sequences under general supervision of Program Manager.
