Bandera Family Healthcare Practice, October 2021. Employed operating the Integra 400, Sysmex, Cobas 330, urinalysis, and occasional phlebotomy. Sysmex, COBAS-330 with quality assurance, calibration, and troubleshooting. Healthcare Clinic was merged with Village Med from Houston. Village Med hired their own personnel.
Methodist ER Clinic, March 2022. Employed as PRN (MLT) performing stat procedures implementing the Dimension LX200 for Chemistry Profiles. STAGO for Coagulation, Sysmex for CBC, and differentials. STAT Rapid Strep, Influenza (A & B) and Covid19, urinalysis, including troubleshooting, quality control, and quality assurance, and occasional vena punctures.
Fort Sam Houston employed September – November 2022 in the Molecular Department. Trained on the Panther for CT and GC, the Panther (Infusion) implemented for Covid-19, Influenza A&B, and Cobas 6800 for viral testing. The job opportunity was great, resigned for personal reasons.
Home Health Provider – Independent Study. (January 15, 2019 – December 2020)
During the COVID Pandemic heaviest periods and shortly after my retirement I have been involved in the area as a home care provider attempt to protect others as well as myself from the exposure to COVID. I have dedicated myself during this time to do extensive studies on this subject. I have been involved in volunteer testing and have become very proficient in recognizing different Covid tests as well as symptoms. I have learned when the symptoms can become present, when and how the virus can spread and how to prevent it from spread.

The denaturizing and processing of specimens tested on DTS or Rapid Capture System. The Protodyne Radius implemented for processing and engineered by Lab Corp. The Tigrs (Gen Probe) assigned for CT/GC. The Gen Probe Combo method CT/GC. The operation of the STAT Lab, designated for CBC’s, differentials, chemistries run on the Integra, semen analysis and urinalysis including phlebotomy glucose tolerance and cortisol studies.

Worked as a generalist rotating different departments: hematology, chemistry, serology, blood banking, urinalysis, coagulation and body fluids. Hematology consisted of the operation of the LH STKS, occ. Manual platelet counts, retic counts, differentials, and path reviews and some phlebotomy. Chemistries operated on the Integra A1C in the variance, hepatitis profiles on the Command (Abbott), HIV pipetted on the Tecan and then processed manually requiring calibration, trouble shooting, and calibration. Performed Hepatitis procedures on the Abbott Commander, performed HIV testing on the Cobas Core. Performed Hemoglobin A1C Specific Proteins. Therapeutic drug monitoring and broad-spectrum chemistry analytes on the Roche Integra. RIA procedures consisting of hormone analysis. Responsible for the maintenance, calibration, and quality control.

The technical assigned duties during my tenure were the chemistry procedures performed on the Olympus Demand and RA1000. Lead levels were performed on an Elmer Perkins Atomic Absorption. Electrophoresis department testing of CK and LH isoenzymes, hemoglobinopathies, and hemoglobin citrate. Lipid proteins, serum, and urine proteins and blood ammonia levels were performed on a Gilford Spectrophotometer. Immunology department utilized two RIAMED1X instruments for CMV, Herpes I, Herpes II, Toxoplasmosis, Varicella, Zoster and Lyme’s testing. EIA department performed hepatitis profiles, Hbs Ag confirmations, HIV, and PAP. Toxicology department performed therapeutic drug testing on Cobas. Tricyclic drugs were extracted by SYVA method and performed on a Monarch. Opiates and THC were extracted and injected into mass spectrophotometer. The RIA procedures using I125, tritium, Cobalt run on the Micromedia.
