Job and Responsibilities: Pollution Control Officer

STATEMENT OF TASKS

●Ensures and closely monitors proper performance/function, operation and maintenance of Environmental Management Facilities in the plant (e.g. Waste Water Facility, Solid Waste Management Facility)

●Ensure and facilitate proper and legal disposal of Hazardous Waste with pertinent Permit to Transport

●Monitors activities pertaining to the installation or construction and maintenance of Air Pollution Source Installations (APSI) and Air Pollution Control Facility (APCF): Water Treatment Facility (WTF) and ensure compliance to the respective standard

●Monitors the operation of the Pollution Control Facilities to ensure the compliance with the effluent standards

●Monitors the generation of solid and hazardous waste

●Monitors the use of chemicals especially under the Priority Chemical List (PCL) and under the Chemical Control Order (CCO)

Administrative

●Acts as a liaison officer to the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB)

●Coordinates regulatory programs and activities with the city, provincial, municipal, and government

●Monitors compliance to the requirements, conditions and commitments of the Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC)

●Prepares and timely submits Compliance Monitoring Report (CMR) stipulated in the Environment Management and Monitoring Plan

●Prepares and timely submits Self-Monitoring Report (SMR) in line with the compliance of the effluent standards

●Reports in writing any occurrence of incident within 24 hours to the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) including breakdown of Air Pollution Control Device (APCD), spills or release of chemicals or hazardous waste to the environment
