BUSINESS MANAGER FIRST ORDER AND VALLEY LAND SERVICES PROFESSIONAL LAND SURVEYORS, BETHLEHEM, PENNSYLVANIA 2021- PRESENT

Business Manager applying knowledge, skills and experience in Business Management, Business Analysis, Project Management, IT Architecture and IT Systems Engineering for this highly respected and growing small business.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accountability for managing all back-office aspects of business, including HR, asset management, IT, and administration. Identify and build upon earlier process improvements, identifying and implementing aspects of enterprise processes and tools which are appropriate to improve the efficiency and effectiveness for all job functions, enhance visibility of business operations to management and stakeholders, and then designing systems and software to support the rapid business growth. ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

Drove company restructuring to position company for succession. Fifteen-year-old company was operating in a centralized manner. Facilitated and contributed to design of distributed organizational structure, and then drove change throughout the organization. This resulted in a strong and effective leadership team, and moved daily operational tasks from the founder down the org chart, to lower-level personnel who were capable and eager to grow into new responsibilities. This enabled a cascading effect, providing development and advancement opportunities throughout the company. Founder is now able to focus on the highest value activities ERIC J. PROSTKO, page 2

of strategy and development of the technical and professional skills of the future leaders. In addition, this has enabled the founder to take uninterrupted vacations of a week or longer. Implement the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS). Using the tools and methods defined by the EOS, implement planning, goal-setting, task management, meeting management, and issue management. This assures that the most important issues are identified and addressed and that meetings are productive and efficient, resulting in decisions and action, rather than circular discussions. Implemented company Scorecards which monitor key metrics weekly, so issues can be identified and solved before they have an adverse impact on the business.

Expanded use of centralized work management system. Built upon success of existing work management system, eliminating multiple sources of related data into a single relational database system, enabling visibility into all aspects of the operation. This includes weekly and monthly revenue, profitability of individual projects, lodging needs for traveling field crews, employee recognition opportunities, and many reporting needs. Previous SharePoint-based work management system had been migrated to Claris FileMaker- based system, where I was able to continue use my data analysis and solution development skills while mastering an an additional low-code software platform.. Replaced company health insurance and auto insurance plans. When annual health insurance plan renewal would result in a 38% increase, worked with agency to identify and implement a new plan which provided better coverage at the rate we were previously paying. When auto insurance dropped company, worked with agency to maintain coverage with challenging requirements. BUSINESS PROCESS MANAGER,EASTERN TIME, INC. ALLENTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA 2018-2021

Planned and championed process improvements in a family-owned business which sells, installs, and services life-safety and IT systems, as it transitions from a founder-led entrepreneurial company to a second-generation process-driven organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accountability for identifying process improvement opportunities, gaining buy-in from company owners and senior managers, and working with staff to streamline, implement, and monitor processes. Develop report systems that can be maintained by admin staff, administer and improve work management system. ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

Led redesign and implementation of organizational structure. This provided clear department responsibilities and reporting relationships, eliminating confusion, inefficiency, double-work, and other conditions common in a fast-growing entrepreneurial company. Leveraged the Predictable Success model. Streamlined and automated the Accounts Receivable processes. Worked with Controller to implement QuickBooks Online and integrate billing module of work management system to create and leverage a single source for the data. This eliminated an error-prone manual process to maintain a separate accounting system for billing, reducing weekly effort for billing from 30 hours/week to 30 minutes, while virtually eliminating billing errors, and enabling a single view into company data across financial, operational, and inventory departments. It also added robust and accurate reporting capability across the company, leveraging a single data source. This enabled the retirement of an obsolete accounting system, as well as driving all staff to collaborate to correct long-standing data-management issues. Simplified data management and reporting for the Sales department. Redesigned the end-to-end process and expanded the use of the existing work management / CRM system to track sales through the entire life cycle. This eliminated paper-based and error-prone tracking of sales. The QuickBooks interface enabled reliance on a single data source. The new, simpler and largely automated process for managing commissions, reduced processing time from 40-60 hours/quarter by 90% to 4-6 hours / quarter, while giving Sales staff, Financial, and Management unprecedented visibility into the status of their commission payouts. 3
