Seeking a Challenging Position in Telecommunications

I feel that I would fill this position with strong communication skills and the ability to keep organized and courteous. I am anxious to learn new things in order to better fulfill the expectations you have of this position. I am looking for something that requires me less time away from home due to my special needs adopted son. He is in school during the day but my current position requires mandated overtime and shift changes frequently. Which is not working with my personal life.

I am a 911 dispatcher. I dispatch for 911 emergencies and non emergency calls for Police, Fire, and EMS. I really enjoy this position. It is very demanding. I have 9 computer monitors in front me that I monitor staff, calls, and local roadways. I dispatcher officers and emergency personnel to situations out of my control and maintain composure and organization of my personnel to assure the safety on everyone on my shift. This position requires a lot of professionalism and organization which I am very good at. It requires me to communicate with the public at their worst possible time. And still get the personnel there that is needed to control all situations. I am required to assist with cases from gun shot victims to elderly who's cat ran away. Maintaining courteous volume and attention that they are not affording me. It is a very high stress job they requires skill and organization.
