Continuous Improvement SME (Project Manager)

Managed large scale projects for Amazon Logistics (AMZL) Delivery Stations (DS) in 2021 thru 2023, providing regional management support to 4 DS sites, managed Walker Delivery program in Manhattan, and project management at 2 NY facilities. Responsibilities include improvment to safety, cost, labor ordering, rate planning, process flow, and facility improvements impacting all aspects of these facilities. Regional Manager for Philly Central Metro Region 8-2022 to Present.

·Assigned to oversee 4 AMZL DS in the Philly Metro region.

·Managed the daily / weekly metrics for sites including safety, engagement, volume, labor, planning, and execution of plan vs. actual.

·Increased rates, and reduced safety incidents to zero over a 4 month period of time in these locations.

·Improved Employee Engagement scores by 30% in this period of time, and was able to manage attrition to eliminate the need to hire.

·Moved one site DPL4's global score card ranking of 453 (of 512) to 214 within 8 weeks, making it the most improved site in the world in September 2022 by re-establishing standard work.

DYX2 & DYY6 Walker DA Project Manager, Staten Island / Manhattan NY 10-2021 to 7-2022:

·Owned the “Walker Delivery Model” for on foot delivery activities in Mid-town & Up-town Manhattan delivery markets, supporting over 1150 delivery personnel delivering 53K per day during peak volume. Increased delivery volume by 37.9% YOY.

·Established Standard work for field managers and hourly delivery personnel. Initiated "roundtable" engagement activities for delivery personnel in the field to get a pulse of people & process to drive standards and improvement.

·Managed several large field projects to increase delivery capabilities in Manhattan: cart standardization, cart shelter project, shelter in place standard, GPS bathroom access, geo-tagging entry points for high-rise and complicated delivery sites such as the Time-Warner Center and other high-rise addresses throughout the city.

L6 Operations Manager Inbound (ACY1) - 7/2018 to 4/2020:

Launched ACY1 as IB SME, responsible for training managers to Standard Work for launch. Managed receipt, storage, and maintenance of over 16 million inventory items.

·IB SME for launch of ACY1 AR Sortable facility, wrote launch essential documentation for IB path to launch, interviewed hired and trained supervisors and managers for Day 1 launch operations, onboarding over 1000 new hires in an 8-week period.

·Identified technical issues in pre and post launch to achieve glide path rates for productivity of 220 by January 2019 for a successful first peak.

·Prime Pallet Expansion added 18,035 (ft ) or $383K of capacity equal to 230K added inventory items for Peak 2019.

·Managed an 8-week. $2.2M conveyor & station retrofit project for IB decant process.

·Developed the “Never Dance Alone” stow model improving key stow metrics and direct stow rates from 137 to 185. Process adopted by all fulfillment sites across N. America.

L7 Sr. Operations Manager (ACY1) Site Manager 4-2020 to 7-2021:

Managed All Night Shift Operations for IB / OB / PCF, having overall responsibility for planning, execution, of labor and volume along with the development of all personnel managing over 2800 associates and managers through Peak 2020.

·Drove teams to achieve record performance, with OB shipping over 304K units in a single shift, and 34K units shipped in a single hour, breaking the buildings volume record.

·Covid-19 POC for ACY1. Provided rapid implementations for all Covid actions. Social Distancing (SD) innovation, 3rd party disinfecting, thermal camera temperature screening, On-Site Covid testing center, On-Site Covid Vaccination events, Covid information and material distribution, reporting, staffing and development of leadership.

·Developed over 100 screen-capture videos for manager and PA training on operational web content for IB / OB, and Bin Meister functions. Provided these videos to the Start Team for online network wide training content.

Employee Development: Mentorship / Development History at ACY1

·Developed a cross functional mentoring and interview development program to grow internal talent and promotion. This program developed hourly associates and prepared them for interviewing at Amazon.

·The program resulted in 22 hourly to salary promotions into Operations, and 7 hourly associates to salary support roles (HR, LP, Safety).

Amazon Fulfillment Center (Traditional Sortable) ABE3 Breinigsville PA 2015 to 2018

Operations Manager (L6):

Manage Outbound and Inbound operations for Softline order fulfillment at ABE3 Breiningsville PA, and 650 sqft facility. Managed over 300 salary and hourly associates, and over 8 million units of clothing and shoe inventory.

Outbound 8-2015 to 4-2016:

·Launched the site as outbound night Ops, onboarding 250 associates, which was a 100% new hire workforce at launch, making training and standard work the top priority.

·Achieved 100% Outbound CPT compliance (on time shipment) on shift from January to April 2016, averaging 30K shipments per shift.

Inbound (IB) - 4/2016 to 7/2018:

·Moved to Inbound as Operations Manager to build the team after transfer and attrition

·Became Site IB SME, CI SME, & Benchmark SME between 2016 to 2018.

·Inclusion & Diversity POC, rolling out the I&D program for the 3 sites in Allentown PA.

·Increased building capacity by 14K cubes (168K units) for Peak 2016.

·ABE3 was #1 Softline site in NA for 2017, returning an overall 4% growth in 2017, using 177,000 less hours than 2016, resulting in a $4.4M savings.

Continuous Improvement (CI) SME at ABE3 ($6.52M savings to site +$18M network wide).

·ABE3 was the top performing CI site in the Softline network with $2.87M in savings for 2017 and over $20M in 2018. Below are some of my contributions to the savings:

·Universal Pick / Receive Cart – Designed a high-density cart for pick & receive allowing for $1.65M in savings locally, and $2.37M across the Softline network.

·Innovated the "Tote to Bin" process for reactive stowing resulting in 100% on time stow increasing direct rates from 189 to 432 PPH equal to $954K in local savings, and $18M over 2 years of network savings (all N. American sites).

·Provided another $3.92M in savings through projects that increased inventory capacity by 22,250 (ft ), receive rates by 40%, Pack Rebin (pack by light) rates by 35% through layout changes reducing waste through redundant movement and processes.

Nilfisk Industrial Vacuum Morgantown PA 5-2010 to 8-2015

Operations Manager:

Managed a multi-functional team specializing in the customization and assembly of industrial vacuum systems used in many industrial applications from safety abatement to line integration for manufacturing processes. Responsibilities included Assembly, Production Planning, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Distribution, Inventory, Shipping & Receiving, ERP data management, BOO’s and BOM’s, Quality, Facilities, and Safety.

·Reduced average days to ship an order from 10.2 to 1.3 days, reduced inventory by 22%.

Managed a 3-shift mass production chemical conversion facility with up to 130 employees manufacturing foam seats for the automotive industry. Tier 2 supplier to OEM auto manufacturers. Responsibilities: P&L, daily production, 2-day JIT inventory, ISO14000 quality requirements & TS16949 environmental requirements, HazMat Emergency Response Certified.

·Average daily production of > 20,000 units at 99.5% yield at 87% operating capacity.

·Improved dollars produced / employee from $129 to $225. Reduced Scrap from 4% to .5%

·Reduced direct labor through lean value stream by 42% from 45 employees / shift to 24.

JDS Uniphase West Trenton NJ 10-1997 to 2-2004

Planning & Production Manager:

Managed a workforce of over 280 employees, manufacturing high speed fiber-optic devices for long-haul and metro telecommunications, aerospace, and medical industries.
