Supervise staff and operations for all facets of fire prevention and life safety services. Perform a wide array of managerial and human resources duties to include hiring, employee development and implementation of training programs. Enforce operational policies/procedures and communicate general orders, special assignments, and decisions of governing bodies to subordinates. Assign department members to designated duties and inform command staff members and elected officials on any changes in regulations and policies, as well as implications of new or amended laws and new techniques of departmental work. Counsel individuals regarding work-related performance, employee relations, and other personal and professional matters.

● Serve as a leader who respects and holds the respect of associates; demonstrate a keen understanding of IFSTA manuals, NFPA, International Fire Code, Building Code, Life Safety Code, and state statute 633.202.

Supervised staff and directed all facets of fire prevention activities for 11 separate fire battalions that encompassed 34 zip codes, 346.6 square miles, and a population of 658,000 with each commissioned Lieutenant/Inspector assigned to a battalion. Ensured all testing operations were completed in accordance with regulations, policies, procedures, and guidelines, as well as the specifications of the International Fire Code, Building Code, Life Safety Code, and City of Memphis specific amendments for ordinance number 5486.

● Hired initially as a Firefighter/Paramedic (1998-2002) and rapidly advanced to Fire Inspector/Lieutenant (2002-2011), EMS Program Director (2010-2015), Manager (Division Chief) of Logistical Services (2012-2015), and Manager (Battalion Chief) (2011-2015) in the City of Memphis, TN that is one of the busiest Fire Departments in the nation.

● Public Access Defibrillator Coordinator-ensured an AED was placed in 300 schools and over 20 city buildings.

● Served as a FEMA Urban Search and Rescue Medical Specialist on Tennessee Task Force One (TNTF-1).
