Assist the RSVP/TR Supervisor in various projects helping to maintain the program of volunteers to assist/help clients on a daily basis. Some of these projects may include creating Microsoft Word or Excel documents/charts to be used in processing data or for presentations. Create flyers, brochures, and other documents for the program. Talk with volunteers and/or clients over the phone solving various problems or issues. Also process time cards and other materials and input into the data base for processing for such things as creating payroll checks, etc.

Duties also include relieving the receptionist when she goes to lunch and assisting other supervisors in other areas of the complex, which include Foster Grandparent Program and Senior Companion Program. Using their individual programs, inputting data for processing for time cards and creation of checks for the volunteers are two examples of what is done to assist those programs. Attend monthly ‘in-service’ meetings to assist these supervisors with their needs.

At the elementary school I was assigned, my job was to stay with a second grade autistic student from the time he got on the bus at the beginning of his school day until the time he got off the bus at the end of his school day assisting him with his assignments, answering questions, and general helping him where necessary. At this military instillation I operate various keypunch machines, electronic accounting machines, and/or computers with duties requiring data being processed into/out of the computer room, such as keying in alpha/numeric information into IBM keypunch and/or verify equipment, or operate computers inputting and/or processing data supplied so to be able to accomplish such tasks as to keep satellites a certain distance above the earth, track missiles, monitor space shuttles prior to, during, and following their landings.

As a computer operations operator-supervisor, I perform tasks in accordance with the operations schedule and/or daily run log; log, label, file, and maintain various forms of backup media; record the arrival of backup media and batch file transmission processing (in-bound and out-bound) in accordance with operations schedules; verify daily, nightly and end of month job executions, report anomalies as directed; monitor and complete recommended actions for host system database maintenance; test new releases, jobs, etc., to be applied to the production environment; transmit and receive transmissions of data with outside vendors as required by schedule; modify existing jobs as requested; serve as a 24-hour a day, 7 day a week on-call contact for any operations related production issues, including but not limited to host production; resolve computer equipment problems or contact a systems analyst to have major problems resolved.

Document any problems that occur during daily operations and the course of action taken to resolve the problems; communicate with system vendors to resolve first tier equipment and software problems; maintain operator schedules as directed; perform daily equipment preventative maintenance routines in accordance with established guidelines.
