SUMMARY

My fields of expertise include project management, construction management, instrumentation and controls engineering/design, and commissioning/start-up. This includes commissioning of all types of oil and gas process control instrumentation/control systems, instrumentation/electrical utilities, compressor/turbine controls, and safety instrumented systems. All assignments are completed in a timely and professional manner. My professional demeanor coupled with tireless strife for excellence has proven highly successful regardless of the circumstances.

Experience

11/20 – Present Project I&C Engineer/ Instrumentation - Enviva BioMass Lucedale Ms. Pellet Mill Project

My initial position at LUD was Project I&C Engineer. My primary responsibilities were to review and approve the Instrument indexes and IO lists that were being prepared by the primary engineering firm and equipment vendors. Along with the Instrument Indexes I reviewed the Instrument Data sheets to ensure the devices would be functional, I did not have the luxury specifying the instrumentation or control system hardware as it had been purchased prior to me coming on board. It was discovered by the PM that there was no Electrical Energization Plan, I assumed the responsibility and developed these documents. As construction progressed, I was selected as the I&E Commissioning Engineer/Lead. In this role I am responsibility for the day-to-day supervision and coordination of activities for the 9 member instrumentation, controls, and electrical commissioning team here at Enviva LUD.

5/05- 11/2020 Project Manager – Instrumentation and Controls ero Energy Corporation McKee Refinery

I’ve been responsible for design through start-up of a multitude of automation up-grade projects from pneumatic control systems to Yokogawa CS 3000, Honeywell C300, Allen Bradley, and Triconex Trident PLC control systems. In addition to the aforementioned responsibilities I assumed the exclusive role of Process Controls Project Manager for all automation projects starting in 2007 with budgets ranging from $2MM to 12MM. My primary responsibilities for the past 6 years have evolved from DCS upgrades into Project Manager over all SIS (safety instrumented systems) projects on fired boilers, fired heaters, and compressor/turbines. For a period of 14 months in addition to my SIS projects my time was occupied with the conversion of over 4,000 IO from various Yokogawa DCS systems to Honeywell C300 and the hands on “Hot Cutovers” of this IO. Assignments have also included the specification, purchasing, and the installation of Control Rooms and numerous RIEs. (remote instrument enclosure) All tasks were carried out in a timely manner due to my ability to effectively and efficiently manage numerous tasks on a daily basis.

12/04- 5/05 Project Instrumentation and Electircal Engineering - Chevron – Cabinda, Angola

Directly responsible for the commissioning, and start-up of seven Nuevo Pignone Turbines with up-graded controls (from GE Mark II to GE Mark VI), Fire&Gas Detection (new Fenwal Control Panels), and field instrumentation. The addition of the new control panels required the re-engineering of the Safety Shutdown System and point assignments, which I accomplished on-site. This assignment was in Angola, Africa with minimal Ex-pat support and an Angolan National work force.
