This is a continuation of my previous job from the United States. The U.S. location was closed and I was selected for a position in Germany continuing my previous role. We work in an agile environment where there are several agile teams operating in an agile release train. Siemens Healthineers, U.S.A. – Hoffman Estates, IL Staff Software Engineer, April 2001 to March 2019

Our principal product is the imaging system for cardiac labs. X-ray images come into our system and are displayed on the screen using DirectShow filters. After the x-ray images are obtained, they can be played back and post-processed. These cardiac labs are used world wide.
● I’ve been part of several large teams that implement Windows based software for the above mentioned imaging system.
● I interpret, implement, and suggest improvements on requirements.
● I provide entire life-cycle support on our products, through the design, implementation, and debugging involved in releasing our products. I also provide support for resolving problems reported by customers concerning our product.
● I have written and maintained test plans for our software. I also evaluated a code coverage tool which was used by our testers to help evaluate the effectiveness of our testing.
● While working on the C# project, I led a small group of programmers from India. I coordinated work with them.
Outcome/Accomplishment:
● Continuous development of new versions of software responding to changes in equipment, customer input and technological advances in imaging
● The post-processing component of the imaging system is sometimes deployed as a separate product so images can be post-processed on other workstations.
● Three Patents (see https://patents.justia.com/inventor/david-janes) o US Patent 9443329, publication 201******** ‘Systems and methods for graphic visualization of ventricle wall motion’,
o US publication 201******** ‘System for comparing medical images’ o US patent 8391648, publication 201******** ‘Imaging system for compensating for mask frame misalignment’.

I was part of a small group (5-10) of people implementing WYSIWYG labeling software. I worked on both our off-the-shelf software, which was distributed to many customers, and solutions for specific customers.
When I arrived at Weber, the off-the-shelf labeling software was DOS based and I was a COBOL programmer. I transitioned into programming our Windows based labeling software in C, and eventually in C++. When we transitioned to 32-bit windows, I had to write printer drivers for our labeling software. Eventually,I COM enabled the software, allowing any COM based client to use the functionality of the off-the-shelf labeling software. I also worked on solutions for specific customers, I often got requirements verbally from the customer as well as our sales force. I had to describe these requirements in ‘functional specification’ documents that the customer approved. During development of some solutions, I worked as part of a team that included mechanical and electrical engineers. On others, I was the sole technical contact.
I also provided support to Weber customer support people. Senior Programmer Analyst, Nov 1987 to Sep 1989
Internal Revenue Service, Detroit, MI
COBOL programmer on payroll software that ran on a UNIVAC mainframe. Programmer, May 1983 to Sep 1989

DIBOL programmer on software for accounting, inventory, purchasing. After I left to work for the IRS, I switched to part-time.
Consultant, Feb 1983 to May 1983
